Anybody know of knife maker & author David Durr of Forsyth, Mo

Bought one of his knives at auction. Wondering if he is still alive or if he has passed.  Doing a search I found an address that seems logical. But I can't find any other info on him. I don't want to bring up his death by sending a letter to him, or call, if he is deceased. So does anybody know him? Living or dead?
