Gallows Hugh Moore
Winchester Model 71 .348 Winchester. It is a standard long tang rifle that has been D&T for a side mount, the stock has been checkered similar to a Deluxe model. A red Decelerator pad has been added, a swivel stud in butt stock and the magazine end cap was threaded for a swivel stud. Lyman 56 peep sight with no insert and the front sight hood is not original. The rifle is in great shape and includes the following 193 rounds of factory ammo: 20 rounds of Remington 200 gr In an MTM box 173 rounds of Winchester 250 gr Silvertip ammo, 140 rounds in factory boxes (boxes are not in great shape with some taped) and 33 rounds in MTM boxes. Asking $2300 shipped for rifle and ammo The last pictures show the red pad that replaced the vented pad Edited April 15 by Gallows Hugh Moore
Clyde Henry 7046
I think the tang length on your rifle should be considered as the short type. Long tang rifles changed over to short tang rifle in mid-year of 1939, with the serial number range of 16646 to 16790.
Caladisi kid
In looking in my book, the serial date puts it at a 1953 mfg.

Oh well it has been sold locally anyway! Thanks for catching that! Rifle and ammo sold locally!
