Cimarron Frontier or EMF GW II Californian the Same or?

Recommended Posts

Not really, both Pietta of course.  I think EMF's GW-II has  a few more options available, Army grips, wide triggers, low hammers, finishes, etc.  The Cimarron is mostly standard single actions with the El Malo having an octagonal barrel and Army grip option.

Asking because I've been trying to find a GW II Californian, 5.5" in .45 Colt for quite awhile, based on their reputation and specs, but EMF has been out of stock on them forever.  My research and ciphering lead me to the Cimarron Frontier, and I found one at Bud's, ordered it in and received it in a few days.  It's very nice piece.  Right on time, a week later, I find GW IIs in stock for over a hundred dollars more.  So, wondering what's the deal?  Anyone here have any experience with these two specific revolvers?  CCH and blued, walnut grips, same sights, same hammer, same firing pin bushing, non removable cylinder pin bushing; can't detect anything different but the price tag.
