Nickel City Dude
I sent my 1873 Uberti to The Cowboy Shop a couple of weeks ago to have him convert it to 45acp and do an action job on it. I took it to the range to try it out and sight it in. It cycles without any problem and chambers the 45acp perfect and has a very smooth action. I can load 10 in the magazine easy enough, I need to use a pusher on the last round to get it past the short stop in the carrier block, but that was expected. I sighted it in ok but did have about 4 FTF out of the 60+ I fired. It could have been the ammo because if I re-cocked the hammer and tried again it would fire. Someone told me several years ago that by increasing the tension on the main spring he was able to get every round to fire. I think there is a screw on the bottom tang that will do this. I don’t remember the details of this adjustment and would appreciate it if someone could supply it. All in all a great experience and I will soon be ready to shoot Wild Bunch.
