Hellgate #3302 L Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I did some "home gunsmithing" a several years ago and reamed out a bunch of cylinders on my C&Bs to .450. Well, all didn't go well and some ended up a bit larger bore than intended. I would like to replace the cylinder I have in my beater brass frame 44 "Navy" Pietta with one that takes .454 balls rather than the .457 it wants. In fact, I'd be happy to swap for an unreamed cylinder and pay some difference to sweeten the deal. The gun shoots fine with the aformentioned cylinder but the .454s ram in a little too easily for me. All my other guns take .454s so I'd just like to be consistant. The replacement need not be in great shape nor need nipples. I will just pull the current nipples from mine and put them in the replacement. I can even reblue the replacement if needed. Anything short of a rusted relic might just work. A Pietta Colt Army or Navy cylinder will work as long as it is 44 cal.
