Sagerider
The looseness between the receiver and barrel of my 97 is just a bit too much for the adjusting sleeve to correct. I have been told that Brownells sells a "washer" that can be fitted to give the adjusting sleeve continued life. I could not find such an item at Brownells but I'm not sure if my search by name was correct. Anyone have any experience with such an item? Have a better name? Do they work? Thanks for the assistance. Sagerider
Marauder SASS #13056
Here is an interesting collection of info: http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=337461 If you do want to try the shims: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=1617/Product/WINCHESTER-1897-12-BARREL-SHIMS But from reading the top info, there may be better ways for a knowledgeable gunsmith to address the problem. Sergeant Smokepole #29248L
I installed this on mine. It's a shim.... .005 inches and should do the trick. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=1617/Product/WINCHESTER-1897-12-BARREL-SHIMS
