West Texas Sully
Well, I don't know what I did, but somehow when I went to reassemble my Stoeger coach gun, the forend wouldn't go on. Huh... Looked at it and noticed that what I thought were the cocking levers seemed to be too high relative to going into their slots in the forend. Turns out I was right - they are the cocking levers and are indeed in the wrong position for reassembly. Went online and found a really great link. Took some finding using various search engines and terms, and that's why I'm sharing it here: http://www.cowboyshootingstore.info/Stoeger_Anatomy.html Followed the instructions and in a jiffy had solved my problem. Clamped a piece of 1 x 2 to my workbench, pushed the levers in one at a time, and was indeed back in business. Almost too easy. Don't believe I pulled the trigger when it was disassembled, and I'm certain I didn't do it twice, so I'm not sure what went wrong. But now I know how to fix that problem, at least. By the way, I took it apart to polish the extractor - pretty rough casting to begin with. Much smoother now.
