Appalachian Alan
Can a Stoeger be made to open left handed? On the left side of the thumb release is a little bit of metal that keeps you from pivoting to the left. If I remove that, can I open the shotgun by pushing to the left, or will I just tear it up? If not, is there anything available to convert it to left handed ?
Dirty Chris
I know it's possible, I handled one that Lassiter did. I didn't ask him how he did it, as I'm right handed. But it can be done.

Smithy
I know it's possible, I handled one that Lassiter did. I didn't ask him how he did it, as I'm right handed. But it can be done. I know one thing. If Lassiter can do the conversion, then it is well worth the wait and the coin that he'll charge to do it. I had him do up an 1887 copy (tune up and action job with the "drop two" conversion), it was pure magic! I have never operated a gun so smooth as that one. You'd have thought that it were two different guns entirely and the drop two you'd have thought that that was how the gun was made from the start. It'd be the same with your Stoeger opening from the left. You'd think that it was a lefty from day one and as smooth as butter. Smithy.
Tell Sackett SASS 18436
Well, my wife has been opening a Stoeger left handed for 13 years. She pushes with her thumb, rather than pulling.
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
Yep, Shotgun Boogie from Germany had several of the Germans' Stoegers modified so they would open when the lever was pressed in either direction.
