Outlaw Gambler
My Uncle has been a avid gun collector all of his life. Now he is 75 and has the start of Alzheimers. He has lots of old ammo, some in original boxes some not in boxes. Lots of different calibers. I am trying to help him price it to sell, but in order to help him I have to come up with some prices for him. He can't remember what he paid for it and of course he lost his hand written papers when he moved. Does anyone know of a web site that may shed some light on the value of this kind of ammo? I have been watching gunbroker but not much of what he has shows up there. Just to give you a flavor of the brands he has Kleenbore, Western X, UMC, Winchester. Any points in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks.
C. Erroll Madre
Outlaw, Certainly not an all-inclusive list, but here are a few that I have bookmarked: https://www.wardscollectibles.com/ http://cartridgecollectors.org/ http://members.shaw.ca/cstein0/welcome.htm http://www.ecra-net.de/start.php http://www.soldusa.com/rainworx/index.asp These sites might help you identify & price your ammo. Another thing to try is visiting the larger gun & ammo shows. I've run across some cartridge collectors there.
