S. Quentin Quale, Esq. SASS 9953
Santa brought me an SA M1A Scout Squad Rifle this year! Now I need some better hearing protection, as I'm told these things are LOUD. Right now I'm using foam ear plugs. I'm looking at a set of muffs. Any recommendations from the group on either a specific item to look at or other types (such as the in-ear "hearing aid" type devices)? Thanks, in advace, for any help. SQQ Peltor makes a thin set of muffs so you can still get a good cheek weld ,but the db reduction is not as good as the full size sets .......you will still want to run a set of earplugs underneath ...........howard leight MAX-Lite plugs are the best I have found and dont hurt my ears even having in 12 hours a day
Cpt Dan Blodgett, SASS #75655
When I was shooting high power used std earmuffs with triple flange or foam plugs as well.
