Redwing Screwknife

My lovely wife presented me with a Redwing Screwknife as a Christmas present. The sheath that accompanied the knife has a square "flange" on the back of it. Is this intended to be a compression fit between the belt and the holster, or do I need to somehow thread it to the belt or the holster?

My holster skirt has a couple of chicago screws in it. I thought I would just punch a couple of holes in the flange to match the pattern on the skirt, but I thought I would seek out some advice before I started punching any holes.

Thanks,

Boondock

I attached it with thread at the top & bottom of the leather flange-

Redwing attached mine with Chicago screws to rear side of my strong side holster. He used one existing screw in the holster for bottom and added one new one for top.

Rivets, screws, or thread, it's up to you. Put it in an easy access place since you may want to use it for clearing a jam on the clock.

Boondock,

If you take the knife out when you mark your drilling holes, make sure you allow some room for the handle and leave room to draw the knife. I use mine most when shooting cap & ball.
