I am visiting my dad this weekend and he has a Pietta he bought several years ago and has yet to shoot it. When we put caps on the nipples they seem to drag a little. Obviously new nipples are likely in order, but any additional thoughts? The caps are number 11's. Is this a cap size issue? Also what size replacement nipples would be appropriate.

I agree with Red Cent. It is likely a finger placement timing issue more than the trigger pull weight. Many shooters place their finger so it pulls the trigger as the lever is closed. Think of the lever as being the gas pedal. Work on your finger placement so it does not pull the trigger right when you close the lever. I would guess your trigger is more than 2.5 lbs but you would have to measure it to be sure.

I agree with the other posts but I need to ask the question. Why move back to the window? Are you having them shoot another firearm from that position, if not why not have them take it to the next shooting position?

Here is a tribute to my old man. I have managed to drag him out of retirement a few times, if we lived closer I'm certain I could get him out regularly. His alias is Mancos and his badge number is 512. Hopefully someone knows the other members of this team shoot. I believe they were randomly selected and placed on teams. I really enjoyed this years match. Posse 8 was great... tons of fun had by all. Great stages. More people camping on site including myself! Awesome Saturday meal. I'm a BBQ snob and that was world class!!!

From the Winter Range stage conventions....spotters need to get it right. If they cannot see well enough to spot they should not spot.

No such bird. When someone refers to an RO3, they are really referring to an RO instructor.

If I am determined I can load 400-500 smokeless cartidges per hour pretty easily. The key is to having the primer tubes preloaded before starting, that will save a couple minutes easily.

The 30 degree rule has nothing to do with cross draws. It applies to all holsters.

Thanks everyone. I got it out using a small brad and then a paper clip, but I prefer having the right tools for that type of job!

I had some issues with the extractor on my Uberti model 73 this weekend. I managed to remove the pin to clean under the extractor but I did not have the right sized punch. I should have measured the pin when I had it out but I did not. Does anyone know what size punch is needed to properly remove that pin?

I really dislike the term "gamer". For a very long time the connotation was that people were somehow playing outside the rules. That is a cheater. Someone that takes time to know and understand the rules, think through transitions, target sequences, practice etc... are not cheaters (gamers). They are competitors.

Even if the holster is made for a 30 degree cant, once you put it on some of our more "rotund" bodies (I am not saying this is the case for you) the belt is not perfectly horizontal and now the holster has a cant of greater than 30 degrees and is breaking the rule. This includes non cross draw holsters.
