Esther Keller bears a remarkable resemblance to my Mama, and Daisy has strong elements of the woman as well. This time of year, when the Veil between the Worlds is thin, I am minded more strongly of them. I genuinely wrote "Nantucket and Gloster" with her in mind ... Esther and Daisy, two happily married women, disporting themselves thusly on the Saloon's little stage, sounds remarkably like something my thumb-my-nose-at-convention Mama would genuinely do!
