H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619 Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 Hey, to all pards here in New England. I'd like to tell you all about a great gunsmith named Sergey Lyalko. I know we all loved the great Happy Trails, but as we all know, he's retired now, and he can't really be our go to guy anymore. Anyway, in the last few years, Sergey has done a few things for me, and each and every thing he's done I have been more than satisfied with. Here's a rundown of a few things he's done for me... Doing the frame cut for an Uberti 58 conversion and installing the ejector. Adjusting the timing on that, and another Uberti 58 Doing some repairs to a Smith and Wesson Model 10 that had some stuff "bent" in it. Fitting a centerfire firing block into my Civil War era Spencer Fitting wooly mammoth ivory grips onto a 2nd Gen Colt SAA Cutting down a Rossi 92 rifle barrel and fitting it onto an Armi San Marco SAA Clone and making the ejector rod fit on the octagon shape to make my "Big Iron" pistol. Repairing the elevator on my Uberti Henry that wasn't elevating. I just got the Henry back today, and all is well with it. He is also working on a genuine 1861 vintage Colt 1860 that has been cartridge converted to .32-20. The conversion cylinder looks quite modern and there are other interesting features about the gun that are very unusual. Anyway, he told me that it has been repaired "many times" over the years, and he had to replace several worn out an broken internal parts. He mentioned the hand, bolt, and something else that I can't remember. It still needs to have some timing work, and a few other things, but I am confident that by the time it's done that it'll be just fine. Here's the website for his shop... http://www.rustbluing.com/ He does good work, and one of his price list does mention various Cowboy Action work. He's based in Natick. I thought it would be worthy to share how I was impressed with him.
