The Charcoal KID, SASS# 31523
Hello; I bought a new base pin for my third generation Colt New Frontier. It is a little bit to tight to fit in properly, it measures .251 Dia and it needs to go down about .001to fit correctly. I do not have access to a lathe and am taking suggestions on how to turn down the diameter ofthe new base pin. Thanks
Colorado Coffinmaker
Chuck the pin up in a Drill Motor. Cut some 220 Grit Wet/Dry into 1 inch wide strips. Wrap gently around the part of the base pin you wish to reduce, fire up the drill motor and run the 220 up and down the shaft. When you get to the size you want, do the same with 1000 grit.
