Subdeacon Joe
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/history/world-war-two/10625799/Dramatic-footage-of-WW2-bomb-raid-emerges.html Footage taken from a "Dambusters" Lancaster as it conducts a low level flypast of a Second World War bombing target has emerged. The film shows the aircraft flying just feet from the ground, as it passes the target at low level, to drop marker flares for the main attacking force. It has been found in the archives of the charity Leonard Cheshire Disability, which was set up by the Victoria Cross winner and former leader of the Dambusters. Cheshire was piloting the aircraft from which the footage was shot. He flew three times over the target - the Gnome et Rhone aero-engine factory in Limoges, France - at perilously low levels, to allow the 500 workers inside to escape, before making a further pass to drop the flares.
