Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L Posted April 29, 2012 Share Posted April 29, 2012 2012 Texas State SASS Championship Costume Contest Overview Shooting Costume Contest (Friday May 4th after main match): ·All entrants must be a registered shooter. ·No pre-registration for contest required, walk up at designated location. TBD ·No presentation is necessary. You will be judged on your costume appearance only. ·Best Shooting Costume categories will be Ladies and Men only. ·No separate categories for style costume or age of entrant. ·Awards will be 1st through 5th places and will be presented Friday along with side match awards. Best Dressed Costume Contest (Saturday May 5th at the Banquet): ·All entrants must be a registered shooter, spouse, or volunteer worker. ·No pre-registration for contest required, walk up at designated location. ·All contestants need to register at the banquet hall and receive a contestant number no later than 6:00 pm on Saturday. We will strive to be ready to open registration by 5:30 pm. The sooner we can get started the sooner we can complete the scoring and take part in the evening meal prior to awards. ·Each contestant is only allowed to enter one category. An example would be one cannot enter as an individual and also with a couple. ·A “Presentation” is not required to enter to contest, however knowledge of your period clothing will enhance your standing in the competition. Any “Presentation” or description time will be limited to 60 seconds (1 minute) for individuals and 90 seconds (1-1/2 minutes) for couples. ·Criteria used for judging will be: 40% for authenticity, 20% for originality, 20% for details (hats, gloves, watches, accessories, etc.) and 20% on knowledge of costume (either from telling judges or answering questions from judges). Any “Presentation” will be used as a tiebreaker should one occur. Please: No Zippers and No Velcro. ·Awards will be 1st through 3rd places in each category and will be presented Saturday night during the awards banquet. ·All costume contest entrants are invited and encouraged to walk in the Costume Promenade at the banquet just prior to the costume awards presentation.
