Congratulations to the winners! Comancheria Days 2012 was another entertaining match and is more fun every year.

Hats off to all of the match volunteers who made it successful. Green grass and trees, combined with the freshly painted targets - compliments of Dirty Dog Dale and Nueces Slim - created a perfect picture of a cowboy range.

Agarita Annie is now the club's Director of Publications and Communications, and she won't sing her own praises. I can do that, and there are many to sing!

Annie deserves a special recognition for organization of the Burger Bash and the Banquet. That's the quickest I've ever 200 people walk through a banquet buffet because there was no queue. Handlebar Bob and Agarita Annie organized the awards, raffles, and drawings and we were fed, awarded, and congratulated almost as quick as Waterloo and Hey You shot the match.

The Spirit of the Game award was that special recognition for Agarita Annie's tireless and successful efforts.

Madam Ella Moon and Smilin Slade received awards for Hardest Working Cowgirl and Cowboy at the match. Madam's work began last year with registrations and was continuous through the match as she also worked on the Scoring Committee. Smilin Slade's began with the range setup and ended with cleanup after the match was over. He seemed to be everywhere at once.

The range work volunteers, the cowboys and cowgirls who began working months before the match, built the new stage, repaired the existing stages, painted stages, cleaned up, mowed grass, reorganized the maintenance and storage buildings, are unsung heroes. 39 Texicans contributed 160 work days, driving 10,639 miles to spend 1,040 hours in volunteer service. By my estimates that's a contribution of $15,188 to the club. No wonder the shooter's enjoyed their visit to the range.

Special recognition to Smilin Slade for 13 range work volunteer days before the match. He led the group in volunteer time.

Agarita Annie and Nueces Slim are the long distance riders, driving 2,000 miles to make these range workdays before the match.

The work of the range volunteers and the match volunteers is truly impressive. Thanks to the many!

And thanks to all of the shooter's who participated in the match. Y'all played the game well!

Newt Ritter is the match director for Comancheria Days 2013 and you can look forward to another great time.
