Captain John Jarrett, SASS # 49413
All. I am selling the items below to raise money to help cover a small portion of the funeral expenses and medical bills for friends of my wife and myself. Their 10 year old daughter was killed in an automobile accident this past Tuesday (February 28th), as well they were both injured but thankfully not seriously, they have little money and no health insurance. I know its not much but if I can help them ease a small portion of their burden then at least I've done something. All items are used but in very good to great condition, some only used once, and for the most part the clothing was made to fit me. I'm 6'2, 215lbs, wear a 44-46 coat (depending on cut) and the blue trowsers are a size 38, a couple sizes too big on me now. The items cover many different eras, but easier on me to just post them all on several different web sites and let the readers pick and choose what they prefer. Prices are posted after the item but I'm open to "Best Offers". Time is of the essence so if you see something and want to make an offer please do so. I thank you and our friends thank you as well. I will accept USPS money order or PayPal as payment. All items ship Priority Mail with insurance and delivery confirmation. For pictures of an item(s) please contact me at johnnyshoes@netzero.com Regards, John Shouse. All items are reproductions with the exception of the Black Frock Coat, Leather Leggings, and the Jackboots! 1. Victorian English Army Tunic-By Stan Dolin-The Regimental Quartermaster, $160 OBO 2. Original Antique Frock Coat-Very Wearable, Size 40, or slim 42. I can get the coat on but lack about an inch or so of buttoning it up. Had originally intended to have someone make a pattern from it to have one made in my size, never happened. Some of the velvet buttons(metal underneath) will need to be recovered, and it has one area in the lining that needs to be restitched, other then that it is in fantastic shape. Padded chest/arm area, tail pockets, two inside chest pockets, made by the Pettibone Bros. Manufacturing Company, $100 OBO. 3. SOLD-Great War (WWI) US Doughboy Army Tunic, made by Schipperfabrik, this is a bit big on me about a size 48, worn once. New they sell for $249, asking $125 OBO. 4. Original Leather Officers leggings. good condition-leather is supple, can be worn but will fit smaller calf sizes only, my calf measures 16 inches around and too small for me. Good for a display as well. The two don't match exactly, but are very close, $40.00 OBO. 5. SOLD-Original Jackboots, in European size but I wear an 11-12 and fit me fine. Most likely post WWII East German, really good condition, hobnails & heel plates installed, $50 OBO. 6. US Civil War brogans, size 12, good condition-plenty of life left in them, pegged soles (missing a couple of pegs), heel plates installed, $50 OBO. 7. Sold Pending Funds.-Great War Shotgun Pouch, Schipperfabrik, never used, $40 OBO. 8. Sold Pending Funds-Mdl. 1873 French Revolver holster, will fit the 1892 model as well, very good condition, $60 OBO. 9. US Civil War Cartridge Box, with sling and plate, all in very good condition, $60 OBO. 10. US Civil War Cap pouch and waist belt, brass Virginia buckle, $40 OBO. 11. Suede/Leather Confederate Kepi, Shamrock pin in front, size large-would fit up to about a size 7, $15 OBO. 12. SOLD-US Civil War Civilian Style Tapestry Haversack, good condition, has removable cotton inside lining, $20 OBO. 13. Civilian/Confederate Greatcoat, light/medium weight Grey jean wool material-full cotton lining, cape has plaid underside, brown velvet around inside of collar and on tops of outside patch pockets, worn a couple times at most, good for spring/fall events, $125 OBO. 14. Canvas duster with two tier cape, unlined. wooden buttons, worn once, $100 OBO. 15. SOLD-But may come up for sale again if they do not fit the buyer!-Fantastic US Civil War Federal Army Wool Trowsers made by Chris Sullivan at Stony Brook Company, on seam watch pocket, great condition, prettiest blue color you'll ever see, about a 38 waist, new they run $125 asking $75 OBO. Please remember that all funds go toward helping out those parents who are dealing with a tragic loss, not to mention an overwhelming mountain of expenses. So if you see something please do not hesitate to buy or make an offer. I thank you, John Shouse.
