T. H. O' Sullivan Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 As a former OH58D Kiowa driver, I keep up with most rotor aviation news and all of my peers knew this was in the works, but never got to see one until now. Interesting as well that all power and cell phone service went out in the Abbotabad area when the choppers went in. I'm glad my tax dollars are going to something worthwhile. Great news report by Brian Ross of ABC news: http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/video/osama-bin-laden-dead-seals-stealth-helicopter-13530978 Here's a link to the Army Times article on this as well: http://www.armytimes.com/news/2011/05/army-mission-helocopter-was-secret-stealth-black-hawk-050411/ T.H. Captain Woodrow Cahill, SASS # 54363 Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Reality finally catches up to Hollywood. If I recall, the choppers in Blue Thunder had something called "whisper mode", and didn't Airwolf back in the 80's had something similar too?
Utah Bob #35998 Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Well they were noisy enough for this dude to hear 'em.
