Willie Shootum
When I went to the Bar3 Match about two months ago I saw a vendor selling "Cowboy spats or leggins"(I don't know what esle to call them) These are leather wraps you put on your legs above shoes so that it looks like you have boots on. I have a hard time finding boots that fit and that are coumfortable, so I thought this might be a good alternitive. Any advice as to who sells these. Thanks, Willie Shootum
Ranger Sgt. Jake McCandless #3368
Willie Leggins or Botas works, here are a couple of places that come to mind http://www.wrtcleather.com/Botas/index-gallery.html and http://www.purdygear.com/index.html she used to have a page of Botas and Leggins, can't seem to find it but she does beautiful work. Sebastian Cain
Another possibility are the black leather Swiss military gaiters that a number of places are selling right now as surplus. Unfortunately, I can't link to my favorite e-tailers due to a work firewall, but you might try Sportsmans Guide for starters. I picked up a pair last year for my wife and liked the look so much I bought a pair for myself. We wear them for a steampunk look, but they would dress up even a pair of black leather Dr. Scholl's amd make it look like you were wearing boots. The only thing is, for best results you need a gap in the sole between the heel and the ball of the foot so the strap from the gaiters can go under your foot. Edited to add: Just after replying, I thought to look at Ebay: http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=swiss+gaiters&_sacat=See-All-Categories

Mean Matt McCord, SASS #24683
I did exactly that. I got my boot chaps (another name for them) from Cowtown Katy. She has an Ebay store, her husband Klondike makes them. Do a search on Ebay for her. http://cgi.ebay.com/BOTAS-HALF-LEGGINS-RENDEZVOUS-SASS-MNT-MAN-BOOT-CHAPS-/370438175189?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item563fd5f9d5 http://cgi.ebay.com/BOTAS-BOOT-CHAPS-SASS-CAS-COWBOY-COWGIRL-NEW-CUSTOM-/370483121160?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item564283cc08 Another possible source is motorcycle shops. Boot chaps are very popular with bikers. You just have to make sure they do not have any Velcro on them.
