Get what you like and feels good to you. I know a couple gunfighters and duelists who really like them since they are cocking the gun one handed, but only know one two handed shooter who could tell much difference. When I tried them on my guns they had a different feel but I did not notice any change in my times, so I went back to my originals. YMMV Regards Gateway Kid

Gateway Kid SASS# 70038 Life
do you know anyting about those halfcock hammers and what they do. If you mean the kind where you have to half cock the hammer to open the loading gate and load em, I have a set of NMV that have had the transfer bar removed and are set up like that. They were modified by Wes Flowers and are 4 click, half cock, shortstroked and really nice but I prefer the weight of my OMV. A better answer could be had from someone who shoots Colts or clones as the half cock is part of their design. On my set the firing pin sticks through unless they are in the half cock position so it would not be a good idea to have a live round in all six chambers (leave one empty, load only five). Other than that I think it would just be a matter of getting used to the differences in loading/unloading . Regards Gateway Kid
