  1. Guns are slowly becoming available as the initial surge has caused most who were desperate for a gun to have found one and spent their money they could afford to on guns. There may be a second surge of buying given recent events, but it's not clear. Ammo remains elusive and expensive for the most part, and I expect that will continue to at least another year if not more. Primers are unobtainium and probably will be for the next year or more. Auctions and estate sales or friends who are willing to sell.
  2. So the results of the recent election won't effect anyone but Facebook and Twitter users who signed up. The new proposed trade policies and tax policies and fireams laws and regulations once enacted won't effect anyone but Twitter and Facebook users. Good to know.
  3. Oh I don't know, maybe because their actions have consequences that effect the lives and livehoods of millions of people? Maybe because they are private companies that recieve special government legal exemptions and protections that allow them to operate as they do.
  4. Facebook, Twitter, Google, and Youtube have political agenda's, they censor and ban individuals and groups that conflict with their preferred messaging and narrative. Government regulations have given them legal protections from lawsuits under the rubric that they are merely conduits and not content providers though they expunge and expell any content that does not support their point of view. Thus they shape and control their content down to the point of each individual post from each individual user. That's not being just a conduit, that's being a editor controlling every bit of information and how it is presented or allowed or not allowed. That's is in effect providing content through "fact checks" and allowing only certains views to be expressed. Can they do that, sure, but they shouldn' t be entitled to legal protections of their actions nor should their actions get a free pass when they support one candidate and one party in an election. Their actions were effectively a billions of dollars in kind contribution to one political party. So, I quit Facebook, don't use Twitter, and use DDG instead of Google. And the legal exemptions that these companies recieve need to end - but they won't because they donate millions to politicians and can make of break a candidates election chances. They have an effective monopoly on social media and monopolies should be broken up, but again they won't be because of their financial and political power. The only way for the monopoly to be broken is for people to wake up, stop using them, and move to other social media platforms. Of course one of the problems with that is that they often buy up their competition if they become too big.
  5. You're in good company, Twitter and Facebook just blocked the President today.
  6. It's Illinois, and one party has absolute power, why would anyone be surprised.
  7. Next to me in the blackness lay my oiled blue steel beauty. The greatest Christmas gift I had ever received, or would ever receive. Gradually, I drifted off to sleep, pringing ducks on the wing and getting off spectacular hip shots

  9. ATF is now recommending that in addition to a safety lock, all firearms be sold with firearm flotation devices. I read it in the Babylon Bee, so it has to be true.

  12. References to fathers, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives and in-laws would be changed to “parent, child, sibling, spouse, or parent-in-law,” according to the resolution. Extended family members would be referred to as “child’s parent” instead of aunt or uncle, stepparents, and siblings-in-law. https://dailycaller.com/2021/01/01/proposed-house-rules-gender-terms/

  21. First there are still a lot of great Firearm channels on Youtube despite Youtube's censorship and demonitizations. A lot of intelligent and highly skilled people providing enjoyable content. But there are also some very odd almost cult like Youtube channels that have some very odd advice and opinions. Recently researching a new firearm for concealed carry I became aquainted with some of these channels and individuals. I'm not talking about fanboys of certain firearms or calibers but some amazing ignorance of history and myopic focus on one type of firearm. I noticed a tendency for instance in pistols for concealed carry for individuals to attempt to create the perfect firearm, such that they attempt of weigh down a pistol with so many bells and whistles that they try to make it a do all weapon in effect albeit without realizing it trying to make a concealed carry pistol serve in the role of a rifle also. I'm sorry I don't really need a concealed carry pistol to make 100 yard shots. Others want to make deep carry micro-pistols serve as full size carry pistols rather than last ditch self-defense weapons or backups. Some can't fathom carrying a full size service pistol for concealed carry saying it's not practical to carry one concealed. I've done that for years as have many of my friends - it really isn't that hard. One individual came across as "Mister hardcore always carry" then bemoaned in his video that he had trouble finding firearms to carry because he liked to wear tight muscle shirts and loose jogging shorts. Really, hardcore carry until it conflicts with my preferred fashion? Iron sights on a pistol are useless in self-defense you must have red dot, (maybe modern red dots are better than irons but iron sights are far from useless unless I somehow am wrong that people have been using them successfully for centuries on their pistols). Appendix carry is they only effective way to carry a firearm concealed, gee I and thousands of others have been wrong all these years thinking that there are various ways to effectively carry concealed. Ah well, there is a lot of good information and useful videos but sometimes you just want to laugh or cry at some.
