Im familiar with PCC as it applies to modern firearm nomenclature or competition - just unsure what it has to do with or why it would be a component of a CAS match.

And since the OP referenced the South East Regional - I assumed his question applied to CAS competition.

I like modern firearms and competitions - but I don't believe I would attend a CAS match that included modern firearm components.

Creeker it is a Side Match. It plainly states that in the title and then again PCC side match. 🙄

  2. Hello All

As we are preparing and planning for the South East Regional I had a couple of questions.

There will a be a  link below to answer the questions so I can get an accurate response.

Long range match is a pretty straight forward fixed or mixed distance question.

PCC Side match is a bit more complicated.

The question is,  shoot a steel which involves knock downs and taking the time to reset knock downs. Additionally no jacketed ammo on static steel and there needs to be a minimum safe distance to avoid splatter issues. The other issue is set up.

Or shoot a paper match. The paper match requires pasting the targets, which we have found to take a little less time than resetting knock downs. Also there is no restriction on target distance. No restriction on ammo. My Wednesday set up crew could help out with this.

Hmmm, let's recap.  There is a ground hog in residence at the gun range and the resident owners couldn't off him with a gun. It sure is a fortuitous happenstance the the owners are bringing in a butt load of help on Oct. 4-5. ;)

    Kajun

There were extenuating circumstances. Shoot the bugger from 200 yards and put a hole through the Hill House or camo up the golf cart and stalk in close. So I guess we might need some help. We called this guy but he was not much help.

  4. As we where doing some range maintenance we found that a Ground Hog had taken up residence under the Hill Cabin right under Copperhead Joe and Catatonics room.
We went through the options of getting rid of the critter.
    1. 10 gallons of a 50/50 gas diesel mix down in his hole.

    2. 5 pounds of Tannerite.

    3. We snipe the little bugger.

We decided that the outcome of option 1&2 while having a Surefire outcome might damage the hill cabin.
The third option was put into play.

The little bugger is still alive.
    Maybe next time.

  5. Ambush at Cavern Cove is in its 28th year! We are one of the longest running annual matches in SASS. We have had this match on the first weekend in October, first weekend being the first Sunday, for 26 of the 28 years the match has been running.

The match registration is open. The registration form is on our website. https://www.northalabamaregulators.com/_files/ugd/e76cb2_9f1be325d8244de2a712f2148edf8a33.pdf

Please print it off and mail it in.

Camping is full, as it always is.

We will have Molly's buckles for our Regional Winners

As of right now we are planning on two flights of shooters.

I could use a few volunteers to help out with the match.

I need a couple of people to run the long-range side match.

I could use a couple of volunteers to help with Shooter Sign in and door prizes.

If there is somebody out there who is a graphics designer / artist and is interested in a side job out please reach out to me via PM.

Note for those staying on the range. There will be no breakfast at the range.

  7. Up for sale is a Ruger No.1 45-70 model 11365
It is a Lipsey's special run. The barrel is a C weight. Ruger made around 250 of these rifles for Lipsey's.

I have not fired the rifle.

    It has a 26” barrel

    Has the rings with it.

    Has the original box.

it will come with a 1-4 power Nikon African with a 1” tube #4  reticle. The tube is pinched ahead of the front lenses. The glass is not cracked. I took this scope as part of a purchase, it came off a 338 Marlin, the original owner claimed he did not know it was pinched. It has been mounted and shot on one of my other 45-70’s. It held the zero with no problem

    Price is $1800 $1500 shipped.

Payment by certified bank check or postal money order.

Shipping will be from my FFL to your FFL in the lower 48.

How is Drake doing? Haven't heard anything in awhile.

Sorry for the delay, I have been to the SHOT show and then the Safari Club International show.

Drake is doing good, he is walking with out a walker and only uses a cane some of the time. I believe he is being released from assisted living next week.

  11. I shot it. It was usually 10 rifle, (9 on a couple of stages), 30 pistol and, very annoyingly, 6 shotgun. My 97's are all unmodified from the way they were made, and none of them holds 6 rounds.

To have a stage convention that requires you to modify your gun if you don't have one of the random ones that hold six from the factory is not right.

To be honest, if I ever make it back to EoT, I prolly won't bother with Wild Bunch again for that very reason.

Use B&P 2.5 inch shells, no modifications needed.
