Looks like the pair with the white grips have been turned around. Cheyenne might have done this because it’s his preferred sight picture?? The bottom pair with the factory black grips are the way they were designed and come from Pietta. Slick

I received a pair of 45C in 5 1/2” Friday (7-18-25). They are definitely better trigger pull weight and the short stroke actions while cocking them are super smooth. Checked the sights and both of them are solid (I would recommend checking them incase the adhesive mentioned above was forgotten). They are still producing great looking blue and color case on these. I’ve been talking with Raj @ Eagle Grips and the new reactive grips for these should be out very soon . Thank you for everyone giving your feedback , good or bad. This is what helps us keep our product in line with what the customer (You) wants. We also get a first hand reviews on what we could improved on and Yes we do listen and improve them. They are “pinned” into the barrel, the actual brass sight has two pins on the bottom of it. Two holes are drilled into the barrel and the sight is tapped in. unfortunately sometimes in the assembly process they “forget” to add the adhesive, the adhesive assist them with staying in. I recommend using Super Weld professional grade. This is a J-W Weld product that can be found at most auto parts stores, looks like a super glue.

They are solid brass and pined into the barrel. This was one of the designs I had them incorporate when designing these for Pietta. Slick

He is correct, all Pietta guns are based off a second generation Colt and do retain the for click action. The difference is these are short throated and there’s no way to keep the four click action in a short stroke gun. So overall to answer your question these particular guns are not four click guns, only Because of their short stroke, modification. But I must say the short stroke is very short and really has a phenomenal feel.

The competition series pistols are U.S. priced at $900.80 each.

Pietta guns are based off of a second generation Colt, but beefed up a little bit so to speak. They have four clicks originally, but with these being short stroked, there’s no way to keep a four click action in place. All these guns do retain the floating fire pen in the hammer, just like a second generation Colt.

Well, the first shipment to the U.S., were all sold out in less than 24 hours. Within a month and a half later, two championships were won using them, along with a couple state championships. Just received the second shipment last week and about 70% of those are already pre-sold on arrival. I just dropped a new video last night on my Facebook page from the regional championship last week. Does anyone have good loading data for trail boss in a 45 Colt? Looking for a nice light match load, I’m pushing a coated 165 grain RNFP. Slick

Lol, not sure, but I doubt it. Would be costly to have the parts sent to the U.S. , CCH by Turnbull then sent back to Italy for assembly.

These are for the new “Premiere Series” from the Pietta Custom Shop for 2025.

We plan to add more caliber choices and configurations as the series continues.

We put a little heavier spring so we have 100% ignition on all the primers. If you would want it lighter that’s something you can certainly have done with your own gunsmith. They will be offered in other configurations as the series progresses. We plan to have several series all the way to fully engraved nickel finish.

I do know for sure, the Bluing is extremely nice, with deep coloring. As far as the color case goes, I doubt that it’s true color case hardening especially at the price point. Although, I must say, the color case hardening that is on them does look very nice, but I will clarify to make sure my assumption is 100% correct.

I do know that when Alessandro and I talked, they were revamping the short stroke kit for these guns. The ones that I currently have actually feel very nice and lock up solid. Time will tell as with any manufacturer on the market, but if issues should occur, I know they will take care of it promptly. Kudos must be given to Pietta for at least stepping out of the box and trying to make something better. I’m proud to have them as promoters of SASS.

Just wanted to get the word out that our joint collaboration between myself and Pietta on a match grade single action has finally arrived. The concept of mine was to bring a fully customized single action to the market that was 100% match ready out of the box. This single action is designed by a shooter for the shooter and fits all SASS levels from the Multi-time world champion to the brand new shooter. Alessandro agreed to take on the project with me and build such a gun. After a few years, we finally nailed down the final version. It’s a Great Western II with all the following custom features, octagon barrel with beveled muzzle for more controlled follow up shots and less muzzle flip, solid brass front sight for better and faster target acquisition, widened rear sight notch for more daylight to frame out the front sight, wide low profile hammer for a better positive chocking angle, wide trigger, beveled cylinder face for less grab while reholstering, checkered gunfighter style grips for a more sturdy and controlled feel and a smooth super short stroke action to finish it off. These are called the “Competition Series” from the Pietta custom shop. They will only be available to order from EMF or myself. I will be set up with EMF at the World Championships “End of Trail” next month with a pair of demo guns chambered in 38/357 & 45LC. I’ll be glad to take you to a fumble stage for live fire. We will be offering more options such as calibers, barrel lengths, finishes and possibly engraving as the series continues. Cost is $900.90 each. * I will add, after getting my demo guns, the triggers have a fairly heavy pull. I have reached out to Pietta to see about getting them lightened to around 2lbs before shipping the next batch* As with any new products there will be tweaks and adjustments to make improvements.
