Once a year, or maybe every other year, I break down the guns and clean the guts. After matches, hot soapy water if available, other wise I use Crocodile Wipes to clean the outside, the barrels, and cylinders. Then just a quick pass of Balistol on a patch through the barrels and cylinders. As for the shotgun, I wipe out the chambers, and the action area. Preppin' some Critter Loads for PA State?

It was explained, and shown to me years ago. When you pull the hammer back with your thumb, and hold it, the cylinder slightly over rotates, thus potentially throwing the alignment off the firing pin and primer enough to get light/no hits on the primer. If I recall, it was explained/shown to me by some fast draw shooters at Winter Range on why their guns get setup such a way.

Aren't the Charles Daily and the CZ are basically the same gun with cosmetic differences, and name.

Any particular reason for this? I mean, I put in the pins Shotgun Boogie makes, because I took it apart to clean it, and just thought 'why not?'

I've used one exclusively since 2019, love it. Very light. Takes some time to get used to full house black powder loads, if that's your thing, because it's so light. As more smokeless stuff, I personally keep it at 1200fps or less.

Is there gonna be a posse dedicated to black powder?!?

How did everybody go about finding the doctors they decided to go with for their spinal surgery? I have spinal surgeon I have seen for my back pain, and I decided on him based on the fact he did spinal surgery on a friend of mine, and she has had no issues with her back since.

I've never done real black with coated boolits, but from everything I've read, it's not a good combo. I don't know of anybody doing 45 Colt Big Loob's for sale, so what I do is just load up the cartridges with real black and seat a soft lead boolit on top, then after loading, smear some loob (Bore Butter works, except when it's warm to hot, it becomes too liquidy) over the front of the cylinder chambers. Then run a brush through the barrel after shooting the stage.

Shot with these two fellow darksiders at NC State this past weekend....lot's of smoke, and big smiles from both of them!

In the current Shooter's Handbook, where category discussions begin starting on page 5, Gunfighter is only allowed in Gunfighter/B-Western categories. As a FCGF myself, I find this frustrating. Recently happened to me, had to find a new category for a match, ended up doing Classic Cowboy. My understanding, and I might be wrong, is that Duelists, Gunfighters for example are 'base' categories, would always be honored, and Classic Cowboy along with B-Western the same as well. It would just be when there is not enough 'age based' participants, is when they would be rolled down. Like what are we, as FCGF to do when you're under 60, and yet there's three other Silver Senior GF's signed up? 1) you won't be able to do FCGF, and 2) you can't even do GF because you're the only one under 65. So it leaves me with limited choices. Don't shoot the match, move into another category (Classic Cowboy being the only interesting alternative, but again, has limited participants depending on where you go), or shoot FCGF and skip any award.

I have to disagree. Because if you shoot Senior as a 60 yr old, and you're the only one in your category and you're at a match where the category minimums are being enforced, then you don't get to shoot. This way, you can roll into 49er and still shoot.

Some matches are starting to follow category minimums now, so many single entry category entrants are getting rolled into other categories. Like a FCD getting rolled into the regular Duelist category if they're the only one. So as far as having too many categories, it appears that they're starting to shake themselves out.
