Really fun match, glad I was able to attend. Tempted to signup with two other alias's with SASS, so I can sign up with three applications for myself, and shoot each wave, I would shoot 12 stages everyday!!!

John B Henry Fine Antique Firearms outside of Philly PA

Yeah, spoke with a dealer who deals with antique firearms about my musket the other day, said they have one for $1900 and can't find anybody interested, and they thought they'd be able to move it at this price.

when I first seen these, at a few antique gun shows in PA years back, they were pushing 5 digits, if not 5 digits........now it seems people who are trying to sell them, can't move them and are reducing prices quite a bit.

I have '73 musket in 44.40 made around WW1. I've used in a few matches without issues. It's fun, it's cool, and yes it can be unwieldy. I do not know the tube capacity, nor do I have a bayonet for it. As for the weight, it doesn't seem to be much heavier than my Uberti 66 with a 24" barrel.

This is a good idea, gonna give it a shot as my rubber bands on the collets broke.

They would round down since Senior FCGF doesn't have the minimum of 10.

No USA makers of aftermarket mainsprings? I've never found one......

Do you shoot 45acp in other pistols? 1911? Glock? Whatever else? I do 45acp for smokeless, also same load for my 1911s. I load 45cbwy spl just for black/subs. My converter is the Kirst.

Also, you can use 45 Cowboy Special ammo in the 45 ACP conversion cylinder. I do this in my Old Army's.

Attached are some of @Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933 tuning guides for Pietta's, and Uberti's with info on doing the coil type conversions. I have this press, parts that work the auto indexing are flimsy plastic, and wear out/break easily. Even after getting new parts from LEE, it still didn't hold up. Now I rotate the dies manually. Been like this for 10 years now.

A good portion of nitrocellulose is from China grown cotton, which is in limited supply to Western nations, if not flat out embargoed. Most of what is available is being used for the war effort in Ukraine/Israel/Gaza.

I use once fired hulls, typically either STS, or the red Winchester AA's. Also started roll crimping since I had a hell of a time dealing with sticking shells at one State match a year ago, rarely, if ever, stick now. Also mop out the chambers after each stage.

Shooter's Handbook is not clear on what could be considered protected regarding shooting style, costumes, or propellant. One MD I spoke with said D, GF, CC, BW, and BP categories are base and protected (except when age breakdowns happen), while other MD's say they are not. It's just not the best then when you arrive for a match, and find out you got moved into another category, because the MD didn't want to honor your 'base' category. And as a GF, it sux extra because there's no other category to shoot GF in (besides BW).....

Can't shoot gunfighter in any category other than Gunfighter or B-Western, also Wrangler is aged based, so yes, that could get rolled down to Cowboy. when @mean gun mark mentioned 'base' categories, I am under the impression that he meant Gunfighter, Duelist, Classic Cowboy, B-Western, and Black Powder categories. Of which I'm under the impression they all are 'base' categories, that would always be offered. Yet, re reading the rule book, I'm not so sure.

Isn't this how it's supposed to be done?
