It's a pleasant time of year when people who would normlly keep to themselves wish perfect strangers Merry Christmas o rHappy Holidays, whichever suits them. I always answer in kind. But... I can't stand the commercials where holiday songs are reworded to act as commercials. I find it especially annoying. And, IMHO, the most egregious of these is overstocked.com. Anybody who knows me knows I'm not the most religious of people, to say the least. Nevertheless it really bugs me when these songs are misappropriated to act as commercials. I make it a point not to do any of my holiday shopping at any store that perpetrates these abominations. Rant mode disabled. That said... Happy Festivus Merry Christmas Happy Hanukah Happy Kwanza Enjoy the Eid. And to my fellow atheists - Enjoy the season. Whether you believe or not, it's still, in general, a happy time of year.
