Tune in, this Sunday morning, live or via the Internet! It's our first live remote, so this should be a hoot! Listen in, and feel free to call in with any questions or comments at 1 (800) 222-5222. Classic Cowboys and Cowgirls, those who enjoy shooting with Classic Cowboys and Cowgirls, and anyone else at Winter Range are all invited to the Classic Cowboy/Cowgirl Dinner at the Buffalo Chip Restaurant on Thursday, February 27, 2020. The Buffalo Chip is at 6823 Cave Creek Road, pretty much due east from Winter Range about 30 minutes off the Carefree highway. This is the occasion when we honor our winners of the Classic Cowboy/Classic Cowgirl Shootists of the Year for the previous year. This time we recognize Stirrup Trouble and Mattie Mahala West. Doors open at 6 pm for cocktail hour; dinner ($14.95 a person) is at 7 pm and the awards will take place shortly after dinner. The Buffalo Chip has facilities outside and inside, so we can work it whatever the weather dishes out. Let us know if you plan to come so we can get an approximate headcount—but don’t hesitate to come on out even if you haven’t told us. We will make room so we can recognize these great shooters who are willin’ to follow the Classic Way.

Classic Cowboy Dinner at Winter Range-Buffalo Chip 6:30 pm Thursday February 21. We are back at it again folks. At Winter Range we will have a whole heap of Classic Cowboys and Cowgirls, folks thinking about becoming Classic Cowboys and Cowgirls, and others who just enjoy being around us. So we like to have a get together for anyone who wants to come at which we recognize our Classic Cowboy and Cowgirl Shootists of the Year for the past year. These are folks who have shown themselves to be willing to shoot the big calibers one handed and master the mystery of the hammered shotgun while promoting the category for others to try. We had many worthy candidates, and our winners for 2018 are Major Art Tillery and Cayenne Kay. We will convene at the Buffalo Chip Saloon in Cave Creek for dinner at 6:30 Thursday February 21, which is the first day of the match. Here is a link to their website.https://buffalochipsaloon.com/ We know that the Cowboy Swap Meet has been changed to that day starting at 5:30 pm, but our hope is that you can get your shopping done early and come out. And we will be there for a good while, with the presentation of the Buckles taking place no earlier than 7:30. Lots of good times and camaraderie to be had. Put it on your schedule for Winter Range! Update: the Magnificent Seven (well, really Augustus Goodnight, but we asked him) have arranged for a cut rate deal on the Buffalo Chip dinner with a $14.95 all you can eat barbq deal. Just go through and tell them you are with the Classic Cowboy/Cowgirl Dinner. Drinks are on your own. They asked us for a headcount, so let us know if you are coming or hope to come. See you there! 2/20 Update: The Buffalo Chip has arranged for the dinner to be held inside. The waether should not be a problem. Come on down and honor our new Shootists of the year.

The Magnificent Seven invite all Classics, occasional Classics, used-ta-be Classics, want-ta-be Classics, or just enjoy being around Classics to attend the newly revived Classic Cowboy Dinner at Winter Range on Thursday February 22. Just like the old days, we will be using the Buffalo Chip Saloon in Cave Creek ( 6823 E Cave Creek Rd, Cave Creek, AZ 85331). The Buffalo Chip has laid out a space for us to congregate and watch our honorees for this year—Chili Pepper Kid and Black Hills Barb, receive their awards for being voted the Classic Cowboy and Cowgirl Shootists of the Year for 2017 . The Buffalo Chip has made us a place around the campfire where we can celebrate the Classic Shooting style, catch up with old friends, and fete our latest honorees. (thanks to our newest Magnificent Seven member Augustus Goodnight for handling the arrangements at the Buffalo Chip.) We have scheduled the dinner for Thursday evening, February 22, during Winter Range. It does not conflict with any Winter Range dinners and food starts at 6:30 with the awards ceremony at 7:30. Just so we will have an idea of how many people to expect, let us know if you are planning to attend by replying to this post or sending me a PM, and we will add you to the list. Right now, here is who I know will be there: 1. Augustus Goodnight 2. Chili Pepper Kid +1 3. Dragon Hill Dave 4. Lodan B. Fast and Marie Laveau 5. Blacksmith Hoss and Grannie Annie 6. I was one of the lucky ones to get a spot reserved at Winter Range with full hookups, confirmed. 35.00 fee to hold. Bad news. Two shoulder surgeries in late December has made me have to cancel my Winter Range trip. I still have the spot reserved. I can transfer the reservation. Any takers?

Winter Range is almost upon us, and the Classics are gathering. We have arranged with the folks at Winter Range to allow us to make our presentation of the Classic Cowboy/Cowgirl Shootist of the Year awards at the Saturday Night banquet. We will be recognizing our honorees The Tobin Kid and Marie Laveau at that time. If you are not signed up for the Saturday banquet, no problem--Winter Range sells tickets ($18) right up until mealtime. In the last few years we have made our presentation at a big get-together Classic Cowboy Dinner out in Cave Creek, but when our venue burned down, it put a little crimp in our style. While the venue has been re-built, we have decided that for this year we will make the awards at the Saturday banquet. But what about the dinner? We are going retro. Originally the Classic Cowboy get-togethers were meeting at a local restaurant and sharing a meal. Not as big and fancy, but true to the spirit of the original get-togethers when the Magnificent Seven was conceived. So on Tuesday night, Feb. 21, we are heading to Chili's near the Ben Avery range. We will meet there around 6:30. We urge all Classic Cowboys and Cowgirls to come, and other cowboys and cowgirls are welcome too. The Chili's is located at 34710 N. North Valley Pkwy and the phone number is (623) 580-4100. Hope to see you there!

Anyone from North Florida or North Georgia driving to Winter Range? Looking for a ride for my guns and ammo. Happy to chip in on gas. Thanks.

All during Winter Range people were asking me where American Pioneer Powder was. Later I found out. American Pioneer Powder planned to be at Winter Range. A lot of shooters buy powder from them there because the prices are low. A combination of cold weather and high sales left them with no powder to take. But they posted a sign offering to ship the powder at WR prices with no shipping or hazmat fees. LINK TO APP WINTER RANGE OFFER AS POSTED AT WR
