Buckshot Bear

I've never seen one hop backwards, sideways yes. They don't walk but they move along slowly when they're grazing but always both hind legs move together with the tail and the front legs as the anchor points.

Were these a thing in the US? I can remember in the '70's when every kid in Oz was using a Ding Bat

Still can't 100% be sure what it is, still just guessing a Bandicoot which is a marsupial like the others -

They are pretty p#ss poor representations of Aussie animals that's for damn sure. From left and this is a WAG a Bandicoot, then a Koala, then a Kangaroo, then a weird coloured Koala and finally a Platypus.
