  1. I am working on a prepushbutton Marlin in 357 and trying to fix the action job that was done on it. I am looking for a v-shaped carrier to install in it. If anybody has one, give me a yell. Looking for a factory made one, not a modified carrier. I had bought a couple of them in the past, but the places I got them before are out of stock. Thanks

  2. After shooting Cowboy for 27 years, (SASS Member 24 years), in 1 year and 11 days, I will be old enough to shoot Senior category.

Depending on several different things, I will be old enough to retire in 1,107 days but I will most likely have to wait 2,933 days to retire.

  4. Well, I got a job agian after being off work and hiding on my farm most of last year. I scheduled my vacation for Black Gold this week ( I get 3 weeks plus 5 personal days during the first year) and my son  told me he is ready to go. I got hotel reservations yesterday in Manchester and will send the applications later in the week.

Maddog McCoy and Just Jason will be there.

Also,  if hand sanitizer is powerful enough to kill a virus,  IT'S POISON!

I believe that a lot of the hand sanitizer is made from grain alcohol. (or it was when nobody could get anything else.)

If you mix it with some Coca Cola you may be able to sanitize your insides with it. :D

I would make a long post about masks and my general hate of them, but i am too tired and really don't give a $^% about them. The one's required a work usually give me a sore throat by the end of my shift most days. I only wear it there since they pay me.

  6. I scored 7 boxes of 12ga LNLR AA shotgun shells today. It was last of all of their ammo except for some odd's and ends ( 28 ga shells, 410s and some 12 ga I never heard.)

Regular price, 7.87 a box with Illinois 9.5% sales tax.

  7. I will be signing up next week. I was 2 hours from there for a long time and now about 5 hours or less away.  I think the last time I was there I was shooting a monthly match for practice before I left for Winter Range.

Guess I better get busy, Got to find a camper and fix one of the golf carts I bought last year.

    See you all soon.

  8. The Range in Sparta Illinois has 1000 campsites, 12 Berms and Is big enough for the shoot.

June in Southern Illinois can be hot or comfortable, just never can tell.

However, it is owned by the State of Illinois and the state would cancel the shoot the day before it started if they felt that way.

You can not trust the governor, he changes the rules on a daily basis.

Where ever it is, I plan on going this year and hopefully it is closer to Illinois that New Mexico and somewhere the weather is nice and cool in June.

  9. I thought you sold these a while back.  If you don't sell the pair ( 1 & 2) you have been shooting, send me a message and we can discuss them.

Somebody buy these as I have been spending too much money lately.

    Bump for a friend.

yall are all nuts!! I mean that in a good way. Lets say 28 shooters that's enough for two posse's.

MadDog you'll be the man in Black when your done with this match.

I have gotten a Nickel Stoger in 12ga for the Plainsmatch and Sidekick is picking up 3 black powder revolvers for me and 12 ga reloader at EOT that I got here on the wire. Since I have my trapdoor, I have the guns now for Plainsman match and if I can figure out how to make the ammo, I am good to go. I am begining to think I will see if I can load some black for my regular match rifle that I may shoot Frontiersman. I will figure it out in the couple weeks.

  11. When I go in to a restaurant I tell them I want a corner in the back by the wall. They look at me funny and will try to seat me in the middle of the room in a crowd. Usually I end up telling them that I don't hear well and I want a quiet place so I can talk to the person I am with. Most of the time it works.

I was in a restaurant with my Mom and Dad a while back and they seated us under a TV that was blasting and a bunch that was watching a game on it. The girl came up and asked for our order and my dad and I just looked at her and never heard a word she said. She looked kinda irritated and repeated herself and my mom spoke up and to her neither of us could hear her over the noise. She got them to turn the tv down and talked louder when she came back. The manager came over an offered a different table but there was no anywhere in the place that was any better. The hard part for me was she had a voice that blended into the noise that was hard to pick out.

Most of the time I am ok but the ringing in my ears get really loud sometimes and other times it is quieter. It started when I was about 14 and a bicycle tire blew out when I was airing it up with the air compressor. Shooting and working in factory years without hearing protection has not helped.

  12. Thanks everybody.

I usually buy shotgun shells as work interferes with my time to get stuff done. I use cheap promotional loads for local matches, and trap, and AA or STS for big matches. I will probably just order 2 or 3 boxes to start, then if I find I need more, I have several 100 AA hulls or I will get some brass hulls and try making some.

  13. Does anybody know where I can buy some 20ga Black powder shells?

I will be shooting black powder some this year and I only have 20ga shotguns.

I am looking for shells with black powder or Black powder substitute.

I don't reload shotgun shells and would need like 6-10 boxes.

  14. Twenty Dollars Apiece

On their wedding night, the young bride approached her new husband and asked for $20.00 for their first lovemaking encounter. In his highly aroused state, her husband readily agreed.

This scenario was repeated each time they made love, for more than 30 years, with him thinking that it was a cute way for her to afford new clothes and other incidentals that she needed.

Arriving home around noon one day, she was surprised to find her husband in a very drunken state. During the next few minutes, he explained that his employer was going through a process of corporate downsizing, and he had been let go. It was unlikely that, at the age of 59, he'd be able to find another position that paid anywhere near what he'd been earning, and therefore, they were financially ruined.

Calmly, his wife handed him a bank book which showed more than thirty years of steady deposits and interest totaling nearly $1 million. Then she showed him certificates of deposits issued by the bank which were worth over $2 million, and informed him that they were one of the largest depositors in the bank.

She explained that for the more than three decades she had 'charged' him for sex, these holdings had multiplied and these were the results of her savings and investments.

Faced with evidence of cash and investments worth over $3 million, her husband was so astounded he could barely speak, but finally he found his voice and blurted out, 'If I'd had any idea what you were doing, I would have given you all my business!'

    That's when she shot him.

You know, sometimes, men just don't know when to keep their mouths shut.

  15. Let's add an Indian Category !!! (or Native American).

All targets must be shot with a Bow and Arrow and any Knock targets must be knocked down with a tomahawk.

You must dress period correct (historically accurate)for the category ( Dress code to be debated at a later date.)

The category can be split in to modern (Compound Bows)and Traditional(standard bows).

All arrows must be completely made of wood to prevent sparks for using metal or flint arrowheads.

The timer stops when it is hit with the tomahawk at the end of the shooting string.

  16. Call SnS Bullet, they are just north of you. I use their 44 200 grain RNFP and they feed fine in all my 44's. If the carrier is a V shape, Change it to one that is a half moon shape, these work better in a 44. Also, change the loading gate with a new one and see if that helps. After that, call Widder and send it to him.
