  1. Word is that Powder Inc has Goex in stock.
The Goex dealer at EOT said the plant is back in production so Goex should be available regularly again.  Whether that will meet demand quickly depends on how many of us are in short supply.

    LINK TO EOT SCORES

This link works for me too.

I see there are not many side event scores posted yet.  Looks like all the WB and CAS main match scores are there.

  3. I have never annealed a case.  I shoot 38/40 mostly Starline brass and have for 20 years.  I only have one coffee can of split cases, don’t bother asking why I kept them…. Possibly just to see how many splits I’m getting.  Probably because I’m cheap and they could still be used.  With BP and a full case they can’t compress back into the case.  I don’t do that, but…. It’s only a coffee can.

  4. Not here.  We haven’t needed this conversation in a long while but if the MDQ call is made it’s a keeper.  We’ll be light hearted about it, (depending on how bad it was) but you’re going to put your guns away.  Maybe just in your cart, but you’re not shooting and not wearing the pistols.

  5. Best wishes to you and hail to any of us who weather the scourge of surgical fixin.  Mine was a rotator cuff repair, I’m still recovering 4 years later.  Later in life is a challenge.  Hooray to the survivors!

  6. Roy, I think you have it by now.  But here it is in my manner of thinking.

If it is real BP you can use weight.  Since that’s about all I use I just weigh it on a scale to get my powder measure at the right setting.

Otherwise, for any substitute you use the equivalent volume, i.e. 60 gr by volume.

60 gr of real BP is what the volume device is calibrated to represent at the 60 gr volume mark.  I never weigh a substitute (except just for curiosity).

  7. I have not had them break. I've used Wolff, some from Happy Trails, some no-name from Brownells. I have even ground down a couple myself. When I do that I hold it in my fingers. Can't overheat a spring if I can still hold it in my fingers. My fingers aren't that tough!

  8. I shoot a TTN (now imported by Cimarron) in Frontiersman for the same "Looks right & fun" reasons. I really like it. I have an original Colt 1878 and when I lay them side by side you can see just how close a copy it is! Yes, it is a bit heavy, that means it is solid and durable. The Colt 1878 was a top grade gun in the day; I think this one is too.

  9. Retired at 62 & love it. My sentence was up! It was the earliest I could get out with full benefits even though it was 3 months short of 30 years. I checked the math, if I worked to the full 30 I'd get enough extra pension for a good cup of coffee each month. Was not going to work April through June for that!

I now have three "jobs", one for small pay, one stipend and one volunteer. But each one is because I want to do it and all are on my schedule and I'm taking 2 months off without asking anyone's "permission".

  10. I shot my Colt Signature Series 1860 revolver in CAS a long time ago, couldn't resist it. Mistake. The metal is softer than other Ubertis. The wedge deformed first and then I could feel the rest of the gun getting just a wee bit loose. Not much, but it's more worn after 2 seasons than my other Uberti 1860s after 15 seasons. So now it's the safe queen it should have been in the first place.
