Any CAT scale when not the busy time is generally a good way to go, they actually are supportive of RVers who give a crap about what they are doing.
As to buying your own scale, you can get close with any "human" scale, a 4X4, and a couple short blocks.
If you think your tongue weight is 500 pounds (5,000# trailer), a 5' 4X4 with one end supported by a block on the scale, the other end leveled with blocks, and the trailer pin support on the 4X4 4' from the scale... Whatever the scale reads, multiply by 5. This will be close to the real number. And since a human scale reads well over 200#, being wrong by double will not break anything.
Scale up lumber and adjust lengths and pin placement as needed to what you expect. 5th wheels are a bit more work and require more "structure" (beam size) as they are both heavier and target weight is 25% of trailer weight, not 10-15%.
I learned long ago, all a 1/2 ton truck ( any make) is good for us towing a single axle trailer. Anything bigger go 3/4 ton with trailer towing package. You'll never regret it. Been there, done that.
Al, happy trailering

I could be wrong, (who, me?) but comparing them to my K frame, they appear to be N frame.

You're one of the lucky ones. Enjoy, and keep the lead goin' downrange.

IMO, of all the Lightnings out there, the AWA was the worst of all. I had 3 of them, and not a one would run reliably. Was glad to be rid of them, even at a loss. Walk softly here. Save yourself some grief.
Al. My 2c worth.

WTB Ruger 10-22 Parts
I have acquired two stripped receiver's and just checking to see if anyone has spare parts laying around. You can PM me with the list of parts and prices. I know this is a little off track, but I thought I would check here also. Thanks, Buckey
I have an all metal, complete trigger group for $45 + shipping. Replaced it with a high dollar Timney, which isn't too much better.

Interesting customized .50 Thompson Center Hawken. Built from a kit, the builder added Engraved German Silver(?) accents to the stock. Rifle shows use, with bumps and scratches, but has a very good bore. Twist is 1:48. LOP is 14.5. Rifle weighs 8.4 lbs. Comes with leather hunting sling. $325 + Shipping.
Now, if only that had a rock lock. Nice fun at a good price. Bump!!

Been doing it that way for years, so much easier than the 3 piece o ring gizmos. However there was a thread a while back indicating that you can set off primers that way. Gotta admit I use shell holders and just make sure the primer stays centered in the whole when whacking. Be vigilant.
Good point! Thanks for sharing!

Don’t really care about that, what I DO care about is barrel length, looking for 3”ish.
Ruger didn't make any that short, it would have to be a modified one to meet your criteria. Jess' sayin'.

I know,w this has been covered at one time, but I have a pair of Uberti Open Tops that I would like the hammer spurs lowered to accommodate my arthritis. Anyone out there do this work?
Thanks

Are these priced per 100 or per K?

how much pressure do you put on it? I have a rock chucker as well.
I usually push until I get resistance, then back off and slowly come at it again, repeat until all the way down. NEVER try to do it in one pass. Usually three times does it. Like was said, don't over lube, but be sure the case IS well lubed. I use a lanilon(?) based lube.
My way, not necessarily the only way.

I just use my 40-65 sizing die lightly lubed 45-70 case, and an RCBS Rock Chucker press. No sweat!!

Does your eye piece have an optical magnifier in it?
No, just the shutter. No glass.

The Merit tang sight with an adjustable aperture can be had with or without a lens to further aid sighting. If your Merit has a lens installed, I can see a MD making that call. But, since the SHB calls out neither Hadley or Merit, I wouldn't based on maker alone..
I have the one on the staff of my Soule sight. This is great info, and I will use it if called out again. Thanks for,r the info.

Where does it state this in the rules?
Acu, I haven't looked into the rule book, but was kicked off a side match because my rifle sight has a Merit instead of Hadley. Match Director quoted, so I dropped out, now question the decision.

I see where the Hadley style adjustable eye piece is legal for lo,ng range but the Merit adjustable iris eyepiece is not. Can someone tell me why this is? Seems to be no difference in end result, and Merit is more practical IMHO.
THANKS

Looking for a Hadley eyecup sight disc, in 10-32 for Shaver Soule sight.
Anyone have one not in use?
Al

WOW!! I can see those in a double shoulder holster rig tucked under the vest of a New Orleans gambler or Sporting Ladies Gent.
Very nice!!
