I have been Range Master for many smaller annuals. And Usually there are a handful of calls that need to be made. I usually spend more time fixing scoring errors than anything else. But for the most part, I can spend a fair amount of the match on the posse.
But with there being so many shooters and it being a sanctioned match, that wasn't the case at Ides. I still had fun. It was just a different kind of fun.I have updated the blog with videos of the stages.

HAHAHA you said it! I was actually a little sad. I felt like I had missed the match because I wasn't on the posse very much. But I was relieved about shooting the stage clean. There were a few bumps during the run. I updated the blog with videos showing the stages in question.

I really enjoyed being the Range Master at Ides this year.

If you are available to help set up the range, we will start on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday. Come when you can and help where you are able. Contact Blazing Saddles to RSVP or for more information.
Please be aware that this year's schedule is much different than years past. Side matches start Thursday and continue Friday afternoon, main Match Friday and Saturday mornings, Awards Ceremony Saturday evening, and then the Top Gun Shootoff on Sunday morning. The schedule is below. Downloadable and printable copy at the bottom of post. Please note the changes to Thursday's side match schedule.
FYI – Parking on Thursday will be a slight challenge because of other range activities. Please be patient with our VOLUNTEERS dealing with parking. We will get you into a spot as quickly as possible, but it will not be the same area as in previous years.Ides of March 2024 Schedule

Thank you. The range is quite literally a resort for shooting sports. The time lapse at the beginning of the video shows the onsite cabins you can rent. The later time-lapse shows both 16 station sporting clay courses.

Thanks Widder. This was our most recent annual match in Okeechobee, FL (just above the big lake in Florida) hosted by the OK Corral Outlaws at the OK Corral Gun Club. This is my home club and where I visited my first match and caught the bug!
