Thanks FJT, Great article. I enjoyed it very much, especially having met some of the euro shooters in my travels.
Well written. "Sisyphean" :-)
Nice catch, Buck; once in a while, my time as a college professor comes to the fore... ;-)

If cost is an issue, get a Stoeger, and have a cowboy gunsmith set it up for you. It's flaws are well known and easily rectified.
Turkish makers are opening and closing factories on a near-weekly basis, and you will find that support for guns in the pipeline is generally pretty non-existent.
Good luck!

Congratulations to the THREE of You!
Pretty sure you've added a pirate lass to the community...what a lucky kiddo!

Much goodness. Less of an AR - fest than usual. Lots of lever action guns - new offerings from Ruger, S & W, Henry, and Winchester. We'll be talking about it on the Gunslinger radio show on KRLA 870 Los Angeles. And we have interviews upcoming, from the folks at Ruger, Dillon, Taylors, and Midway's Larry Potterfield. We'll also be interviewing Dana Loesch, Lena Miculek, Michelle Viscusi, and TacGirl Michelle Waldran. https://am870theanswer.com/programguidedaily

Another vote for a printed version. Side note; that is how I got into this game. I picked up a copy of the Chronicle, back in 2000, and thought, "That looks like fun!" It is. I jumped in, and got bit.
Bring back the printed version, please. It's a valuable marketing tool.

Just back from the SHOT Show. Looked and felt solid in person, but I don't think it is currently aimed at the cowboy market. The tupperware stock is geared for practicality, not tradition, and the optional wood stock is too pricey to being chucking about on sketchy range tables.
Glad to see S&W enter the market, though!

This really hurts. I regard the days that I got to spend in his company as some of my best days in this game. I really liked that guy.
Condolences and very best wishes to his family and friends.
Sincerely,

I am certainly not rich, by the standards of the day, but I do like to see what's over the next hill. Or across the river. Or the ocean. So I keep mine current, and handy.
The upcoming April issue of the Cowboy Chronicle will contain a few more details on this topic. Seems we're not the only ones who enjoy this cowboy action stuff.

I have NOT had a good experience with Ginex primers. The brisance or heat index is definitely different than the primers with which I am most familiar; Federal, Winchester, or CCI.
I have had decent experience with them out of rifle length barrels, but have had numerous instances of incomplete burns, up to and including bullet projectiles not being completely expelled, from pistol length barrels.
Your mileage may vary, but that is absolutely my experience. And I'm not alone in this.

Have heard nothing but good things about Boogie's parts and work but he hasn't been able to get his parts in for over a year and has now dropped the Ruger short-stroke kits from his website. I recently contacted him about getting work done without success. No parts available.
Hang tough. New parts, including short stroke kits, are incoming.

I just spoke to him last week, and sent a shooter who needed a good rifle to him. He's still in the game!
