John Boy, thank you for posting this.
Like Hearsedriver I was surprised on CLP Break Free's status. I love that stuff.
Looks like I will be checking out Hornady One Shot. I have never tried this one.
You will not be disappointed in Hornady One Shot. Just remember to shake the can well before using it.
I use their gun lube on all my smokeless only firearms and on all my safe queens. The only thing I don't use it on is my AR as it requires a heavier lube.
I have carbide dies and I use their case lube on all my cases. Sure makes it a lot easier on my elbow when resizing cases. Don't have to wipe it off afterwards either.
BTW it comes in two different size aresol cans. 5 and 10 oz. Buy the 10 oz it is more economical.

WD-40 is a penetrating oil and it can/will foul your ammo if it comes in contact, plus it will turn to a sticky varnish if left in hard to clean areas and will pick up dust and lint. It is not a gun oil!

WD-40 Specialist is marked and sold as a corrosion inhibitor and not a lubricant.

Great post and information JB!
Was interesting to see how well WD-40 Specialist performed. Gonna pick some up.
One thing not covered in the testing, was if the various products become 'dry' to the touch after application like Eezox does.
OLG
I use WD-40 Specialist on the outside of my dies and exposed metal on all my reloading equipment to prevent flash rust when they are not being used for extended periods of time.

The person who was asking this question was looking for an alias. So, I'm not sure that was helpful. I entered the letter "a" and came up with a plethora of banned users.
Alias Lookup is under the membership tab of the main page

Chris,
Double check that your email address doesn't have a typo in it.
Chris, PM Allie Mo your email address and I will verify it is correct and fix it if not.

How to get rid of the prompt asking for notifications.
If you have clicked on the little bell and selected "Notification Settings in the top right of the popup window and unchecked everything and chose to save those selections twice. Once for the top section and once for the bottom section; then keep reading otherwise do the above first.
FIRST and most importantly... There is no one size fits all answer.
Because there are way too many possible browser and operating system combinations to give specific instructions for every one;
All you have to do is perform a search like this
"Stop browser notifications (insert your OS) (insert your browser)"
For example "Stop browser notifications Safari Mac OS X" or "Stop browser notifications Windows 10 Firefox"
You will find the answer that applies to your specific setup. Just follow the instructions.

SD,
Do you know if the 16 x 1.75 will fit in a tire of that size? The info indicates it goes in a tire of 16 X 1.90. Thanks
I don't think so. Try reading this

You can buy them from Amazon, WalMart, or any bike shop.
No-Mor-Flat and Never-Flat are two of the most common brand names. Do a search on Amazon using one of the two brand names and your tire size.

I set mine even more restrictive, to no notifications at all. Did follow the "learn more" link, which took me to Mozilla's page about Web Push. When I looked at my Firefox notifications settings, there are no websites allowed. According to the instructions, I can block a site, but I think only if it is listed in the first place.
If I'm the only one having this problem, and it isn't an option on the SASS site to turn off, I'll just live with it.
Thanks to you and Sedalia Dave for the help.
EDITED to add screen shot.
Try this
QuoteGo into
about:config
and setdom.webnotifications.enabled

I keep getting a popup window asking if I want to get notifications from this site. The selection options are “Always receive notifications” and “Not Now”. If I select “Not Now”, it goes away and comes back as soon as I change pages.
Can I make it go away permanently without selecting “Always”?
Go to the top of the page and click on the bell shaped button. Then click on the "Notification Settings" option in the top right of the window. You can then edit notifications. Be sure you scroll all the way to the bottom as there are two sections with separate save buttons.

It appears that sign in security is currently non existent. User names and passwords should be sent over a secure HTTPS connection. As far as I can tell the new wire forum does not do that.
If they are indeed un-encripted that is kind of a glaring security hole that really needs to be fixed.
Agree!

In the previous version there was a button just to the right of each topic title hat would allow you to preview the first, last and if there were any unread posts the first unread post. made it easy to find the first unread post for any topic rather than opening the topic and then having to scroll all the posts to find the ones you haven't read. Any chance of getting a similar feature back???
Hi Dave, IIUC, they are still there. You need to "hover" your curser over them, then click your choice. The dot or star on the left, should take you to the first unread post. However, I'm not sure it consistently works. Keep trying and let us know what you find.
Thanks That worked.

Wouldn't it be cool to shoot a match with those.

Been shooting SASS for about 19 years, I can name about 10 shooters by their real names.
That's 11 more than most of us.
When I was in the Navy my mom was amazed at how many friends I had yet I didn't know both their first and last names. Many people at work I only knew by their last name and a lot of my drinking buddies I only knew by their first name or their nickname.

Read "From Ingot to Target." most of what you have been taught about bullet hardness and what causes lead build up in a barrel is hokum.

If you decide to ship FedEx or UPS you will have to do it through one of their offices. You cannot do it through a third party store like Staples or Mailboxes r Us

Cut and weld if you want it to last.
After a few years the bondo loosen up in the holes and cause the paint to crack. The rougher the roads the truck travels on the sooner this will happen.
Friend bought a truck that had similar damage repaired by filling the holes with bondo vice welding them up and using bondo to fill any small imperfections. After a year or so of driving on gravel roads, you could turn the bondo in the holes. The edges of the holes do not provide enough surface area for the bondo to adhere properly. The excess pushed through is unsupported and makes the problem worse.

I have been told by more than one old timer whose opinion I respect that the best gun oil was sperm oil. However because it is no longer available the second best is the light weight food grade oil used in processing plants.
Reason being that it has to stay put on equipment that is often exposed to a wet humid environment.
