Is there any connection to Dillon presses? It seems both reported issues were used with Dillon. I recently had an issue with Winchester large pistol primers seated in 38-40 cases at a SASS event. About 50% of my rounds failed to go off in my rifle. Never had this happen before. Took the remaining rounds home, dismantled them and re-seated with a RCBS hand primer. All 24 rounds went off as normal in that same rifle. I always check every round I produce and all primers were seated below flush of the case rim. However, the hand tool actually seated these primers deeper. That's when they all went off. This is not a knock at Dillon--my 550B has given 40 years of service but lately the "feel" of seating only large primers has begun seem different.
