As opposed to 0730 in the evening.   :D

    (Yes, I'm being a jerk)

well , in my world the evening would be 1930 , i get that the morning/evening reference was redundant tho , but isnt that the military way ? just a question of refence i thought some might catch but i get your point , redundancy for redundancies sake is  almost like a double negative - prone to an obtuse interpretation ,

This is something that is way past stupid. I don't know how he can even eat and keep his food in his mouth.

May be an image of 2 people and text that says 'I present to u...the new generation. Good luck !'

im going to date myself a bit and give a little insight into how i feel about all the DEI crap or whatever you call it ............this photo reminds me of the old national geographic photo spreads i remember as a kid , except this looks dumber than those , none of this ever made sense to me and ill never have any respect for someone that does it , an earing ? OK , if you feel thge need , a tatto fine if it makes you happy , i have no need for any of it - i dont wear jewalry or a watch either ,

Most of us here are well educated, but look how often lose and loose get mixed up. Not to mention there, their, and they're, break and brake, or advice and advise.

gotta remember that sometimes the computers AI / spell check / or whatever changes what was trying to be said - i know my voice / text stuff comes up with interesting interpretations of the words i meant to use /said on my phone , and a fat finger typo can turn lose to loose real fast whey you type fast with one finger

wont say i havent misused a word , i have and will do again , but flouting the law is one ive not heard yet ,

but "...repeatedly flaunted the law....." that one i have heard ,

  4. this was a pretty interesting aspect of WWII info , i think they prevented the invasion of the british isles as much as the battle of britain in many ways as well as the distraction of the D-day invasion feint

  5. well , funny you should ask this as i just experienced it at a restraint i like here when we go to breakfast before going to gunshows in the area ,

my friends and i like this irish pub place here and a couple weeks ago we were there at 0730 in the morning , a couple in our party ordered OJ or tomato juice , i ordered a guiness [i like that with french toast on those days - had to wait till 0800 to get it but it tasted good ,

not sure if thats the law here or their rule , i just accepted it ,

about 30 miles south of here there is a "dry county" where you can never get served , we have those yet ...........closing time is 2AM by state law , last call a little before that , ive not seen that in decades

I can't work them either.  But it's butter smooth and fits her hand almost as if made for her.

ya , never seen any quite like that , my grandmother had some of ivory or bone and my first wife had mostly plastic , its been decardes since ive been around someone that was proficient at this ,

  7. looks very nice , i know nothing of how to opperate that but it looks nicely made ,

i ordered shotgun wads from south of the twin cities - they went to duluth way up on the north coast then back to here just north of the twin cities , lotta gas got burned and hundreds of miles traveled to go an hour + north from its origin , and it took a couple days rather than a couple hours ,

  8. ok , i never heard anyone else mention this but i would probably be in that same court if i were hoping to compete with these , i have smaller hands as well , i suppose that is why i prefered the 51s to the 60s ,

ive actually gotten very fond of my 58 revolvers

If they did it in reality, I can see some of these reasons put forth here being correct.

But did they do it in reality? Or did they just do it in the movies and on TV?

Every cop show out there, there will be a scene where the plain clothes cops will see the person they're after, and from 30 to 50 feet away they will call his name and flash their badge, which always causes him to turn and run the other way, and he has a 30 to 50 foot head start.

That's television. We have the exciting chase.

But I can't help but think that in real life, the plain clothes cops would wait until they were standing next to their suspect, and they would grab him by the arm and show their badge, and that way he would not be able to run away. That just makes way too much more sense.

But that would be reality, not television.

As far back as I can remember, which would be the very early 60s, the drivers always got in the driver's side. I never ever saw anyone, in reality, get in the passenger side and slide across the seat.

My truck has a bench seat. And a couple times I have slid across the seat. Generally because some moron has parked next to me so close that I cannot open the driver's door.

Unless you keep the seat completely clean - as in no maps, no winter coats, no CD cases or cassette boxes - it's very difficult to slide across the seat. And then we have the transmission hump in the middle of the thing that you got to clear with your feet.

As a kid, the parental units would shove us in one door and we would have to slide across the seat to make room for the other siblings. But that made it easier on them - all the kids were on the same side of the car. By the time we were in double digits of age, if we were going to sit on the left side of the seat we went in the left door. Sliding was just foolish.

would love to ask my folks that grew up in the late 20s and 30s but they are both gone now , ill ask the first 100 year old i see as thats what they would be this year , i like the camera angle idead - it makes some sense but so did all the other ideas as well , thanks for contributing everyone ,

  10. ya , ive never understood them , a distraction when speaking to the person your attention is drawn to it and your mind is repulsed , completely negates a good interaction ,

  11. ive not got personal experience with these but ive seen a lot of high school shooters with both the tri star and the SKB shotguns , they have been standing up to the riggers of that sport quite well , have not heard of any needing repairs so far ,

If they didn't already know it, listening to the talking heads won't help them.  I was pretty sure of it before the blatherers blathered about it, they just confirmed it.

One of the local news guys pointed out that the MV was never in the proper channel but ran parallel to it.  To me that screams navigation error.  It had room to clear until power was lost.  Barely clear, but clear the bridge.

that was how it appeared in the diagram of its path , both outside the channel and ample clearance , but the power issues played into that i suspect ,

My cousin sold Kirbys for a while, my mom wanted nothing to do with them. She thought they were too expensive and she loved her Electrolux!:)

i found the kirby very heavy and less efective than as billed by the salesman ,
