  1. Yep. Played war games with BB guns;  rode inner tubes, on the snow, pulled behind a car; rode toboggans standing upright with 2 others;  jumped off rocks into water in pools when we didn't know the depth; jumped coal car trains for ride to next town;  rode bikes downhill, blindfolded;  jumped off concrete walls into 5 ft high piles of raked leaves, etc, etc.........   All great adventures. I wouldn't trade any of those memories

Just watched it again.  I have watched a pile of DVDs about WWII in the Pacific recently and now understand the term "bullet rich environment".  Lots of combat footage expertly mixed in with the Hollywood scenes

I was stationed on Okinawa from March 1966 to August 1968...21 to23 years after the fighting and th eplace was still "hot" with unexploded munitions, riddled with battle damage, and lousy with battle souvenirs.

Last year, at this time, we had the opportunity to visit our Son and his family, in the third year they were stationed on Okinawa. We walked Hacksaw Ridge, the Navy HQ Underground and the Shuri Line/Castle areas..........With your eyes closed, and a bit of imagination, you can visualize the action.  It is still haunting/moving to this day......

Nope.  Sorry, Cap'n, but that would make it a Sharps ~ which it obviously ain't.

Now, with THAT said, my first thought was that the "checkering" appears Remington-ish - sorta.  And the action does look Mauser-ish... but brings to mind the .300 Win Mag Ruger M-77 that I bought about fifty years ago.  Which, by the way, made a most effective ground squirrel gun;  150 gr BTHP coming outta the skinny end at around 3400 fps plumb vaporized them boogers.

Okay. We can change it. Looks like you been there, done that and got the shirt to prove it. So how about Ole Vaporizer ? ;)

Nothing that weighs between 85 and 120 pounds can be called a "Sporting Rifle."

C'mon it's a crew served sporting rifle. Hell, I wouldn't tote the ammunition to the field....

I've tried every variety of Ovaltine that I can find and like I said about, it isn't the same.

Repeat after me "cost savings, cost savings, cost savings".  There is no processed food item made today that has the same formula as just 7-8 years ago.
