"Car guy" Yup, that's why I'd have that picture on my desktop. Of course, Farrah always was sort of a Mustang in her own way. She was my #2 Angel behind Kate.

Oh please, Charlie Harley, let's get with the times, Man.
Here's one just for you...
Who's your favorite Charlie's Angel?
I liked Mary Ann and I loved Kate Jackson and Cheryl Ladd - what can I say? I couldn't make up my mind.
Kate Jackson by far. She was sexy in that honest, approachable way.

Napoleon didn't design his coat, but he had a hand in it.
Now that right there is F-U-N-N-Y!

Candy is dandy, but...
It's a family forum.
My kids loved Napoleon Dynamite and played it continuously for several months. I watched it once with them, at their request, and couldn't figure out what they were laughing at.
Then I started laughing at, of all things, tater tots.

Mini-shells would be slick in that thing. Definitely make the recoil manageable.

I think with the right pistol grip that such a contraption could actually have merit.

Somebody dug up another expired equine over on the Wire, and the flagellation has commenced!

I like our equines better, like Ginger vs MaryAnne .

That is totally cool in every way! Thank you for sharing.

Helo winches are the way to go in rough weather ship landings.
Before their invention, landing a helo on a pitching ship wasn't much different than landing fixed wings. Hover over the intended target and "smoothly" lower collective as quickly as possible to do a controlled crash onto the deck.

Made me put down the chips and salsa for a few minutes. Pray my daughters never have to make that call.

Thank you much, Alpo. Interesting back story. I'm less ignorant than five minutes ago.

I believe I saw a "Star of David" on her sword. Pretty fancy looking blade
Not wanting to shift hijack this thread, there is a "Star of David" near the hilt. I'm curious as to it's significance.
But back to the original topic... Bad but pleasant puns about "close order drill" come to mind.

I go to the Washington Post for most of my news, and fill in the blanks with the BBC, NPR, Fox News, Drudge, WSJ, and a few local newspapers.

The only reason to dive the USS Arizona is to intern a survivor's remains with his shipmates.

It's an interesting way to try and step up the performance of AR platforms. I think it's a cool idea, but I see the niche for this cartridge as being minuscule.
On a side note, I do think it speaks to the versatility of the AR platform. The breadth of cartridges that can be enjoyed just by swapping upper assemblies and maybe magazines is truly amazing.

I wish I were media so I could attend. Have to settle for the NRA convention in Atlanta this year, which is a big deal in its own right.

Even Ralph Stanley likes your newest little lady...

It's just not fair. Cleveland posted a near perfect season. No post season Play-Off. You'd thought, there would be, if not a "Wild Card" game, maybe a "Discard" game. Some form of recognition.
Sheesh.
Coffinmaker
A "Discard" game... Now that's funny right there!

I have two Shilohs. One in 45-110 and one 38-55. Love them both dearly.
I prefer the rifle with the pistol grip. The straight stock is somewhat awkward on the wrist for extended shooting sessions.
I must say though that Shiloh does not make their own barrels for all rifles. When I bought my last one in 38–55, I called the factory and they said they were waiting or in the barrel to arrive from the manufacturer. It did kind of irritate me since their website still says that they do make all their own barrels.
I don't shoot long-range with the rifles so can't comment on sight selection.
Being a Shiloh owner, I cannot say a bad thing about the C Sharps rifles either. They are beautiful works of art and I have heard nothing but good things from those who own them. It comes down to who has what features that you like, at what price
, and what delivery time.

I'm wanting to fix up a steampunk hat with either a bowler or tophat as the basis. This won't be used a lot so I'm hoping to not spend a lot of coin on it, and thought maybe one of our SASS costumers has a closet queen hat that they'd be willing to part with for sale or barter. I make fun cutting boards and wood utensils that I can offer on my end.
Condition doesn't have to be perfect as it will get extensive mods.
My hat size is 7-5/8. I can go bigger if needed and just put in a thick liner. Smaller presents a problem.
I appreciate any assistance the SASS family can offer

I first read that headline and wondered, "Why is this news? There are still seven engines left to fly home on."
Then I ready the article and learned that an entire engine pylon departed the aircraft and landed on its own in a North Carolina field. That only leaves six engines and some questionable structural elements to get the crew back to base.
I'll betcha some flight suits had to be washed after that mission.

I know that functionally one is designed to reduce the visibility of burning particles outside the muzzle and one is designed to reduce the noise signature.
But I've seen and used a number of noise suppressors that also nearly eliminate flash, and it seems that a robust flash suppressor might also mitigate some sound intensity.
Given that one requires extensive paperwork and registration, and the other is a simple screw-on device that can be bought anywhere, I was wondering what the legal distinction would be.
If someone is building a custom flash suppressor, at what point does it become a noise suppressor and require registration? I searched the ATF web site to no avail.
This feels sorta like an Alpo question, but it's truly been on my mind lately.
I appreciate any insights the Saloon (ACS) might offer.
