I guess we'd need to define what you mean by "big issue".

    1. How much money did you really save by not getting the gun from your LGS.

    2. Is it really a good deal for SASS/CAS...if it has a synthetic stock?

Why is it when folks point out any kinda negative aspect of a post they get jumped on as being some kind of jerk?

No one ever said any of the sort !

If you don't like the gun don't buy one .

    That's your prerogative.

If the gun has a plastic stock ,  I'll return it .

No big deal , If it don't I'll keep it .

I was just passing on the information .

I didn't mean to get your panties in a bunch :P

Dont hold your breath to long it will give you

    Drain Bamage

  3. It would almost be impossible to buy loaded Ammo and shoot Cowboy

    Action Shooting in any manner.

You really need to buy some used equipment or some Lee equipment.

And start loading your own ammo .

    Once you get started .

You will wonder why it took you so long to start doing it .

Even if you don't have a lot of space you can load on a small enough scale to keep yourself Shooting.

So with shipping and a possible fee from your FFL to process the 4473, it's not that great of a deal. I can get on for under $400.00 out the door from my LGS!

Free shipping and my FFL is only 20.00 .

So I'm going for one .

And I will report back .

I just thought it was a good buy and wanted to share the info .

I never thought most Pards would have such a big issue out of trying to save someone money and passing on a good deal .

The link listing has a black plastic stock.

    I don't believe it's plastic .

    I believe it's painted black wood .

I will report back when it comes in to my FFL .

  6. I use Unique or Universal Tit for tat .

Now both are just about impossible to find anywhere.

Thankfully I have several pounds of it .

I have been shooting APP FFF as my primary powder now for about the last 10 years .

So my supplies are very good for now .

I pray once we kick some people out of office in November.

We can change some direction in this country and the powder may be available sooner then latter .

    God bless America.

  7. When I started out shooting in SASS.

I started out shooting 44 special on purpose , Because it was as close as I could come up with in Rifle & Pistol too a Original setup .

I now often shoot 44 Russian because it's even closer.

I can down load the 44 Russian to just about exact same cartridge as the 44 Henry cartridge.

Picked up some 71-72 Open Top 44 Special Pistols from a Pard on the wire .

Come to find out they was just about wore out .

So I sent them off to Mike at Goongunworks for the Outlaw Mule treatment !

44 Special guns are not to hard to find if you look around hard enough.

    I think I bought three 44 Special 1873'3

     ( 24" 20" 19" ) off the Wire this past year , all about a week apart.

No time like the present to jump in with both feet !

    Good luck on your adventure.

It has cost me a small fortune .

But it was all worth it to me .

The money pain is only temporary.

The glory of having something almost no one else has is forever lol .

    So Saith the Rooster
