  1. I will not willingly go to a match that allows the 1911 to be shot in a SASS posse. Start allowing them and I am gone.

Start your own WB club with it's own targets and own range and good luck to you.

If you read what I said before you posted a responce .

I said it would NOT be the same game,

and SASS would LOOSE Shooters !

Dont see how that makes ME go start my own game .

Im NOT for using a 1911 in Cowboy .

  2. Since I can't outrun one from either end I probably do not have the correct answer, but to me I think what people mean is the mechanical limitations of a certain rifle or of any rifle keep them from shooting as fast as they can fire it or think they can fire it.

    +1

When you can run a gun to the point it solws you down

Because it can not be run any faster .

Or You can make the gun malfunction

Because you are running faster then the can run !

I cant out run anything :-)

  3. I would LOVE one in 44 Special. :)

    I got the Uberti 66 in 44 special .

    Love it !

And Now with my two new 1872 Open Top 7 1/2 " 44 specials .

Cant wait to shoot this year .

If Im not still down with more Surgerys from my Motorcycle accident last year.

  4. Badger, just a little virtual temptation. A S&W Model 24 revolver in .44 Special. Depending on the purpose of your .44 Special, either a 6.5-inch barrel or a 4-inch barrel. Less popular than the Model 29 in .44 Magnum, the Model 24 might be harder to find. And, they ain't cheap.

Of course, you might get a Model 29 since you can shoot .44 Special or .44 Magnum. The Model 24 has a lighter, tapered barrel.

    Smith & Wesson Model 24.

There ya go. If I was looking for a revolver in .44 Special, the S&W Model 24 is what I'd get. Virtually that is. ^_^

    Absolutely Beautiful !

Top of the line Sexy 44 special .

Now I need a new tablet I think the drool is going to brake this one :-)

  5. Cry once and buy a 73. A 92 will leave you quickly frustrated, and wishing you had just saved a little more a bought a 73. Both the Uberti and the Winchesters are excellent rifles. The Uberti is competition proven and spare parts are readily available. The Winchester 73 is also a fine choice but parts are scarce.

PS the Taylors & Co. and the Cimarron are both Uberti's they are just importers, not manufacturers. The only difference is the roll stamp on the barrel.

Thats really Not true at all.

The 92 slicked up right is a excellent cowboy gun .

Most (90%) Shooters can NOT out run a slick 92.

Before the short stroke kits come out for 66 and 92 or Marlin .

The 92 was a fast rifle and a world champion gun.

    So yes a 92 is a good gun .

If you ever get to the point of out running the 92 .

You can sell it for about what you got in too it .

Most keep them becouse they are just about indestructible guns.

A lot of people will say cry once and buy once .

But most people got sucked in too buying a 66 or 73.

Because thats what the Top Shooters use .

But about only 10% of the shooters are in that top class of shooters.

The rest of us merror mortals would be just fine with a 92 .

    If your heart is set on a 66 or a 73 .

    Then by all means ,

It would be cheaper in the long run to wait and save your money.

But if you just want to get out and start shooting Cowboy .

A 92 will serve you well for many years .

    Yes I own a 66 and a 73 and even a 1860 Henry.

But thats because I liked the guns and bought them all used and at a right price .

    I have two 92s .( that I would never part with )

And have used them now for 9 years for Cowboy action shooting.

You dont need to get all caught up in the Myth ,

You MUST have what the top 10% of the shooters in the game shoot .

Buy what you can and have Fun !

    Its just a Game .

PS. So now lets see the BS fly :-)

  6. If we are talking about shooting a SASS Sanctioned shoot .

I can see everyone dressing in Proper attire !

If its a local weekend club shoot . ( practice for most Cowboys and Cowgals )

Then I dont really think its a big deal ,

to be a little relaxed on the Period Correctness .

It is what it is .

Shooting guns , Playing Cowboy , Enjoying friends .

People get to hung up on the Meaningless little stuff .

And let it ruin there day or game .

Just take a deep breath and enjoy the fun .

And go back to your Childhood for a moment of fun .

    Just saying ! LOL

  7. Im new to C&B revolvers.

But I just bought a perfect angled Antler at the Gun Show today.

    It is a key chain.

I looked at it and said .

That would make a great Cap Pusher ! LOL .

And now I just read about it :-)

My two new 1858 Remys with My Henry 1860,

And My Single Shot Shotgun Should be a blast to shoot ,

    This Year.
