I don't think he cares much at all what anyone thinks of him.
He averages around $390,000 per year just on YouTube (his main channel) which has made him around $7M since he started his channel.

He does. Not bad for a high school history teacher. 😀

  2. Shoot as much as you can. Warm up stages, side matches. The shooting is great! And for this, brings LOTS of ammo.

The swap meet is full of great stuff so bring cash. Or stuff you have you don't need anymore to sell. Eventually (say 3 weeks before LR takes place) there will be placed in the classified section a "For sale at Land Run" ad where you can advertise your sale items.

Go to the evening events. Always fun and well run.

Be prepared to make new friends.

How many of Hickok45’s videos have you watched?

I have watched his videos for years... never once have I seen him do anything unsafe. And yes, that guy can shoot.

  4. Their music is fun. Any time in the 80s or 90s when I was in a nightclub and the DJ put on YMCA the place turned into a huge dancing party. Without fail every single time. Didn't matter if it was a cowboy bar or not.

And this was in the midwest. Not even close to San Francisco. 😄

So now the employees have to deal with telling people to leave if they don’t buy anything! It should never have been a policy to begin with! Liberal ideas almost always backfire!🙄

Take out the word almost and then you'll have it.

  6. A very, very good movie in all respects. I've seen it several times and have no doubt will enjoy it many more. Costner and Harrelson nailed it. And as mentioned, it only depicted Bonnie and Clyde as the criminals they were. Some powerful moments in this movie.

  7. Major was my good friend and travelin' buddy for many years. We came in SASS about the same time and hit it off quickly. He was much more than a friend. He had become affectionately, my little brother. His heart was full. He loved this game, his family and his girlfriend, and his dogs (Travis was a huge animal lover). He was indeed one to ride the river with and my travels with him were better because of him being there. He had a passion for this game, for this life and for everything that matters. He will be missed.

Love ya, little brother. Rest in Peace.

Cowboy was not a very glamorous job and was thought to be a step above vagabond.

Think home depot parking lot about 0500.

Working and earning but day labor and easily replaceable

Exactly. Many cases it was what you did if you couldn’t do anything else.

That does not mean the boys and men who did that work did not take great pride in what they did, and how they did it though.

I payed pretty close attention to the time/date clues and I guess I missed the 1870's one.  Everything I saw pointed to the time frame being around the start of the civil war and that's what I based my observation on about the cartridge conversions.  If there was a reference to Costner's gun fight being 1870ish it must have been so obscure that I missed it which made the movie seem to jump around to different time frames.

It doesn't jump around as much as it just fails to provide a reference date as the stories progress forward in time.

  10. Favorite? 45 Colt

Favorite for BP? Well, 44-40 of course!

    😁

You asked if 45 Schofield will run through an unmodified '73 in 45 Colt? Don't know about through a '73 but I could run 230 grain 45 Schofield through my unmodified Henry 1860. I'd think I would get the same results in the '73 but never tried.

They weren't using cartridge conversions in the wrong time frame.

The movie started in 1862, but progressed, you had to pay attention to the short shots of the dates that were carved on the door/wall/ rock, one of those....

I was going to argue that as well but did not have the time. Thank you for pointing that out. Cold fingers with an outdoor job this time of year on a small phone and all...😁

Saw part one on the big screen and still desire to see part 2 on the big screen!

This one is probably best seen on the big screen. I saw it in an IMAX theater, complete with that awesome IMAX sound. What a show!

Part two cannot arrive fast enough!

    😀
