[Spring 2025 match suggestions]

Be sure to hold back some vacation time and money until the second week of  October, to shoot in Oklahoma.  Land Run is The SASS National Championship and Oklahoma is a lot closer to you than Phoenix. We usually have about 700 shooters for the cowboy match. We have several shooters from Ohio make the trip.

I use 2.3 grains of HP 38 with 78 or 100 grain bullets and both do well. The 78 grain are very pleasant to shoot.

1.41 to 1.43 is typical for short stroke.

Hi Rootin

Before I switched to short stroked Marlins which require shorter bullets, my Marlins ran best with 1.48 to 1.49 OAL. I hope this helps you.
