  1. Thank you for the honest review Oklahoma Dee.

It’s great to see a quality shooter such as yourself give a review.

A “Competition Series Single Action” was definitely something that I wanted to make available to all SASS shooters. The thought was to build a custom built match gun that’s 💯% match ready and Affordable. After discussing my plan with Alessandro, Pietta jumped on board with me and helped achieve this dream.

From the box to the shooting range, making champions one match at a time.

Slick are you coming to the Tennessee State Match this year? I would sure like to handle some of these and see how they would work for an arthritic old duelist!🤠

    Randy

We had planned on coming but unfortunately our plans have changed.

Slick, I hate to ask stupid questions but are these built like a colt clone.  If so, even with the octagonal barrel are they lighter than the Vaqueros ?

Never a stupid question, it’s the way we learn.

All Pietta pistols are based off a second generation colt. Even with the octagon barrels they are very well balanced and feel amazing in the hand . I personally think they are just about the same weight as a plain Ruger , even with the barrels.

Everyone that has held/shot them compliments on how well the feel and smooth the action is.

Awesome! Thanks for stepping up to answer my question!

He is correct, all Pietta guns are based off a second generation Colt and do retain the for click action. The difference is these are short throated and there’s no way to keep the four click action in a short stroke gun. So overall to answer your question these particular guns are not four click guns, only Because of their short stroke, modification.

But I must say the short stroke is very short and really has a phenomenal feel.

    Thanks,

I have ordered one and we will see how long it takes to get in.

I have three SASS PRO (the Aussie version, looks like a short stroked El Patron competition with no markings on the barrel that say SASS PRO). I was a bit disappointed with a warranty replacement I got this year. It just didn't feel as solid and well put together as the ones I got back in 2020 (the front sight was bent to allow POI to match POA).

I like my Pietta C&B guns and I am hoping this matches their quality and out of the box shootability.

    EDIT:

I contacted the shop and asked for two. I will let you know how long they take (I waited three years for the Uberti warranty replacement).

By the way they are quoting $1350 each.

The competition series pistols are U.S. priced at $900.80 each.

Uhhh, well now I guess I'm not positive if short-stroke makes a difference.  @Slick McClade might have to answer that.  However, the question of 3 vs 4 clicks usually regards Uberti's retractable firing pin safety, and none of the Piettas have that.

Pietta guns are based off of a second generation Colt, but beefed up a little bit so to speak. They have four clicks originally, but with these being short stroked, there’s no way to keep a four click action in place.

All these guns do retain the floating fire pen in the hammer, just like a second generation Colt.

Pietta importer in Australia said they may be able to get these in.

Has anyone been using them much?

Well, the first shipment to the U.S., were all sold out in less than 24 hours. Within  a month and a half later, two

championships were won using them, along with a couple state championships.

Just received the second shipment last week and about 70% of those are already pre-sold on arrival.

I just dropped a new video last night on my Facebook page from the regional championship last week. Feel free to check it out. It’s also posted on YouTube under Mrslick425.
