I suppose that depends. For me, being in the Army Reserve and the National Guard was the "right job." I loved it, and miss it every day. Being the attorney representing our children services agency as an assistant prosecutor was the "right job." A job I didn't enjoy, but was passionate about, good at, and received a bit of fulfillment from. It wasn't my choice to no longer do it. I wish that being a police and fire dispatcher had been the "right job." I tried harder than anything I ever tried, with the possible exception of being a combat medic. I just couldn't develop that skill set. Right now, I enjoy my work, although I wish it paid more and the hours were different. Is it the right job for me? At this point in time it pays the bills, I do it passably well, and I enjoy it, so that is enough. I applied for a job using my actual degree almost two months ago, and was really excited by the prospect. At this point in my life, I thought it could be the "right job." But it appears it is not to be.

Don't lose hope. If this one isn't to be, the right one will come along. Keep the positive thoughts/vibes coming. It will happen.

  2. Depends on the crowd. For some of our more casual friends, some cream cheese with chili sauce in the center of a platter of crackers. For some of our more sophisticated friends, fresh guacamole dip with organic blue corn chips with flax seeds. Maybe some pastry baked Brie topped with mushrooms sauteed in white wine and green onions. Those are my top three.

    Thank you!

My wife and I have been feeling the stress of taking my aging Dad into our home - the extra laundry, the special cooking, the unique burdens of caring for elderly parents. Of course, we would not have it any other way - we love him dearly. But every once in awhile, we need to release some frustration with small inconveniences such as the pile of dropped food under his place at the table (he has become our dog's fast friend) - and this pic hits the mark. Thanks for giving us something to laugh about!

Bless you for caring for your father. That is the best gift you can give him. You are a wonderful child for doing that. I'm long distance assisting my brother in doing the same thing.

  4. I feel your pain, fellas. My '04 Mazda SUV has nary a scratch on her and just turned 160,000. Unfortunately, she has this phantom electrical problem that I'm afraid might do her in. I have things like dash lights going off and on, instrument lights going off and on, radio works sometimes etc. We'll have to see what happens next. I've warned Uno that she may decide she's tired of me and turn herself into a car-b-que. We'll see.

  5. Aw, shucks; I was hoping for a spill ON the highway; nothing quite like watching the ballet of a couple of cars and trucks dancing down the pavement on rolling marbles.....

    Better luck next time!

Yes BUT, and there is always the BUT, can you imagine the consequences if the car in front of you kicked up one or more of those little beauties and they found their way to your windshield at mach speed? That would not be as much fun...............
