Seems like a good time to post my Steampunk 1887 to give Billy some ideas.
-
Nice, I hope you send it to Lassiter for an action job.
I love the Chiappa he worked up for me!
-
Charlie, I would estimate about 40 lbs for the cart and jogging stroller, and another 7-10 for the front box (empty).

Really need this cart gone. Make me an offer.

Caddo
To my knowledge, the Blackhawk has always had the front site blade secured with a roll pin. The blade actually sits down in the base of the front site, and must be drilled. A roll pin is then used to secure the site blade.
I took a picture of my Blackhawk and a picture of the latest Blackhawk from the Ruger Website. Both show the pin for the front site.
A HUGE shout out to T-Bone for helping me out! He put a grin on my face! Merry Christmas!!!

Who was the original manufacturer of those sights. Not reasonable that they were discontinued. Slick's distributor may not carry them anymore, but the manufacturer probably still makes them, and a check with them will possibly reveal availability somewhere.
Likely that Marbles would be a good place to look or inquire.

I believe he said it was his brother-in-law, who didn't do it "professionally".

OK, I am spoiled. I bought some Ruger Blackhawk site replacement blades from Slick McClade.
But now he can't get them anymore from his supplier.
So now, I'm looking for a replacement, pin-in site blade for my two new Blackhawks. Does anyone know any other sources?

Yeah, I keep in my rolodex next to the "Vega and Pinto Mechanics".

So are the Cherokee Cowboys in Gainesville, GA. Registration at 8, Safety briefing at 9.
4 stages then pot luck and annual awards.

Feel free to make me an offer on this cart.
I could use a Ruger 10/22, Maybe one of those Widder Henry rifles, a Mossberg Mariner with the extended mag tube...
Cash always works.

I've been dealing with Ron for probably 10 + years and he has always treated me like family.
Deal with confidence.

I blame Hogleg Smith, followed closely by Cherokee Charlie and Robin T. Banks.
I picked up Hogleg Smith's card at a gun show, because I had just moved to the area and you never know when you'll need a gun smith. At that same show, I picked up a used Ruger Super Blackhawk. I wanted a side arm in the same caliber as my "brush gun". The property I was hunting at the time was mainly swamp, so I needed something short range without a scope. The revolver needed a new cylinder base pin spring. As he was fixing it he asked me if I had ever been to a Cowboy match. Just so happened that there was one the next weekend, four miles from my house.
Some of the first two characters I met at the match were Cherokee Charlie and Robin T. Banks. They made me feel right at home and got me right in the middle of the action. I went out and bought a double barrel and another Super Blackhawk. I then bought .44 special dies and started loading .44 special. The month after the wife, Bea Itchin' started shooting. Haven't looked back.

Golden Gate Western Wear used to be there. Not sure if they still are.

Funny, I don't remember anyone other than Lt Emily Lake from that movie.
She was, ahem, Mammiorable.

Flaco Joe,
I sent you a PM.

I'm a fan of Northern tool as well. All my gun cart plans call for them. My latest ones I've been using are the "run flat" ones. They never need air and are a good tire to boot!
Look what I got from TACO BELL!

Triple D, they are made by Chiappa. They ain't cheap (about $1,200). Don't bother with the "fast load" option. Just get the regular gun and send it to Lassiter.
