I somehow missed this.
That is a great looking Triumph. The Triumph Scrambler was on my short list when I bought my Kawasaki Versys in 2017. The Triumph lost because I rented a Bonneville T100 and I liked it but my butt was numb within an hour. Then I got this idea I would like an “Adventure Bike” so I bought the Versys. The Versys is no Adventure Bike. It’s a “Sport touring” bike.
I still love my Versys, but my left hip doesn’t. The seat is 35 inches / 89cm high. Sometimes getting on the bike is a bit difficult.
Recently I have been thinking about a new bike. The Triumph is back on my list.
How many Km does it have on it? I love the lines of the Thruxton. I am envious.
Howdy Pat..I was tossing up with the Thunderbird or the Thruxton, very happy with the 'tunney...kms was the only issue when I bought it as the books didn't match the speedo, the seller was legit & didn't realize the kms were out ...I managed to get hold of the original purchaser & he mentioned the speedo was playing up ...at the end of the day I'd say approx 70,000 kms, ended up with a good price as the bike is in excellent condition with better sounding mufflers, K & N filter, Gazi rear shockies, progressive springs up front, lower foot pegs. I just put a small visor over the headlight, fitted a center stand, probably do a few small things like relocate the ignition key, better oil filler cap & fuel cap & that will do..no big changes like I did with the Harley & poured to much money into it. The Harley is 30yo next year so will put it on Special interest rego plates [ older vehicle type thing ] & use for club rides -rallys etc. Love riding the Thruxton & wasn't sure with the different riding position but really like it, just an easy nimble motorcycle to ride...Cheers 'Mohawk
