I somehow missed this.
That is a great looking Triumph. The Triumph Scrambler was on my short list when I bought my Kawasaki Versys in 2017. The Triumph lost because I rented a Bonneville T100 and I liked it but my butt was numb within an hour. Then I got this idea I would like an “Adventure Bike” so I bought the Versys. The Versys is no Adventure Bike. It’s a “Sport touring” bike.
I still love my Versys, but my left hip doesn’t. The seat is 35 inches / 89cm high. Sometimes getting on the bike is a bit difficult.
Recently I have been thinking about a new bike. The Triumph is back on my list.
How many Km does it have on it? I love the lines of the Thruxton. I am envious.
Howdy Pat..I was tossing up with the Thunderbird or the Thruxton, very happy with the 'tunney...kms was the only issue when I bought it as the books didn't match the speedo, the seller was legit & didn't realize the kms were out ...I managed to get hold of the original purchaser & he mentioned the speedo was playing up ...at the end of the day I'd say approx 70,000 kms, ended up with a good price as the bike is in excellent condition with better sounding mufflers, K & N filter, Gazi rear shockies, progressive springs up front, lower foot pegs. I just put a small visor over the headlight, fitted a center stand, probably do a few small things like relocate the ignition key, better oil filler cap & fuel cap & that will do..no big changes like I did with the Harley & poured to much money into it. The Harley is 30yo next year so will put it on Special interest rego plates [ older vehicle type thing ] & use for club rides -rallys etc. Love riding the Thruxton & wasn't sure with the different riding position but really like it, just an easy nimble motorcycle to ride...Cheers 'Mohawk

Just some info as to how many $$ you can spend in Australia in relation to a license & 'Permits to Acquire [PTA ]
Now this relates to my home state of Queensland [ Qld ]..other States are different but most are around the same price ..'EXCEPT Western Australia [WA ] which has absolutely the worst gun laws in Australia & way more expensive to own guns. I'm just renewing my longarm & pistol license, cost for both is $320 for 5 years. A PTA is currently $45 per gun no matter rifle/shotgun or pistol, then when you broker the buy thru a gun dealer it is around $20, can be cheaper if you have a dealer friend or someone in the club, dealers can be a shop or individual.
Dealers, antique collectors all pay an annual fee..not sue of cost [ someone will chime in ]
To own a pistol you'MUST be a member of a club & depending on how many calibers you own attend a minimum of shoots.
You have a card that is signed with the particulars of each time you shoot.
Rifle /shotgun do not have minimum shoot requirements, there can be a club m'ship but most just have property owners permission to shoot on their land.
Not sure about other states but in Qld we have a like for like swap for rifle or shotgun [not pistol ] , if you want to get another SXS for example you can exchange the one you have for the one you want..basically same for same with minor differences allowed. This is only thru a shop.
Everything I have said does not relate to pump or auto's ..they are a different kettle of fish !!......Cheers 'Mohawk

Good explanation by Major Crimes, he has pretty well covered it....I was up to 50 guns myself but have shortened it down to 35, pump & auto shotguns have been part of that , if you have the genuine reason then in most cases you can have them , handguns are a lot of paperwork & time but again if you jump thru the hoops they are obtainable..it's all a paper trail & money.....don't worry governments are always changing the goal posts !!!
