Background: I've got a Rossi 92 in 45 Colt that has developed a nose up failure to feed jam tendency.  Awhile back, early last year, it was spitting out live rounds when working the lever.  I found the right hand cartridge guide to be cracked (at the screw hole) and I replaced it.  The rifle behaved for awhile and now this.  Yes, all the screws are tight.  Yes, I've taken it apart all the way and cleaned thoroughly.   After a  good cleaning, it behaves for a few rounds, say 1 match, and then acts up again.  Yes, I've double and tripled checked cartridge length.  Originally, the rifle wasn't "great" out of the box, but it didn't give me this many problems.  I've thought should replace the left cartridge guide too as both the originals seemed "soft" and were wearing more quickly than I would of thought they should, rifle is about 5 years old, at the most and I shoot once or twice a month.  But I'm having problems finding a left hand cartridge guide in 45 Colt.

First question, thoughts on the above?

Second question(s), is Steve of Steve's Guns still "the one" when it comes to working on Rossi's?  Note: I haven't had a chance to try to contact him yet, my work schedule is "weird".  If he's winding down or way backed up, anyone else out there doing good gunsmithing on Rossi's?

Sending you my Rossi fix information Sure hop it helps. It worked for me. Let me know how iot goes

Howdy JJ, my magazine stash is 90 miles away, but next time I'm there I'll keep an eye out for it.  Do you recall what is on the cover?

I goofed it was magazine #60 not 66.

Front that I recall John Waynes Rifle, Info on Beretta Renegade rifle and Commanche Moon Lonesome Dove info.

Been calling one number but never returns my call.

Appreciate what you're doing. Thanks, in advance.

Would you be interested in a Rossi 92 i 357 with 24 inch octagon barrel. Slicked up by Sgt. Eli at Victory Gun Works. I'd like $800 shipped ffl to ffl. Thanks, Al

That is a darn good price your asking pilgrim. I have an old Rossi Puma 16" and would never part with it for less than $1500.00 and I still would not do it.

  10. Yep lots of these old cowboys come and go and just seem also to disappear. Hers an article from the  SASS Chronicle from June 1996 on  match that was held at Cowtown  in  December 1995.

  12. Howdy Doody pards: Just wanted to add that the Phantom Trigger installed on my Marlin Cowboy Competition rifle along with the Widdermatic works is a fantastic shooting rifle and have not had any problems with Slick's Phantom Trigger.

You all take care, God Bless and see you on the Range some where in time.
